Death leaves more than scattered items behind.
When a player dies, Fallen Legacy stores their inventory inside persistent corpses modeled after the fallen player. The corpse is affected by gravity, cannot be destroyed, and remains intact through server restarts and crashes.
Any player can right-click the corpse to begin the Soul Convergence; a dramatic, resurrection ritual featuring spectral rings, soul fire, levitation, screen effects, cosmetic lightning, and an explosive finale. The claimant is protected during the ritual to avoid uncontrolled damage.
After the ritual:
- The stored inventory is returned to the claimant.
- The corpse transforms into a skeleton wearing the deceased player's head.
- The skeleton remains as an aftermath marker for 10 minutes before despawning.
- Items that cannot fit in the claimant's inventory are safely dropped on the ground.
