faktocraft-1.20.1-0.1.0.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Faktocraft 0.1.0 - out of alpha
The mod is now in beta: every system is in place and has been played through. This release is the nuclear one - the whole uranium chain, radiation as a real hazard, a way to watch any machine from across the base, and a rewritten wiki.
Nuclear power
- Nuclear Reactor: a solid 3x3x3 cube you build out of Advanced Machine Casing and open through a hatch on top. Fuel rods and neutron reflectors heat it, coolant cells and water cool it, and the hotter it runs the more it generates - a well-fed reactor is by far the strongest generator in the mod. Let it get away from you and it melts down, taking the building with it.
- Fuel cycle: uranium dust goes into the new Uranium Centrifuge to be enriched and becomes fuel rods; spent rods go back in and come out as enriched dust, nuclear waste and plutonium.
- Nuke: three plutonium and a few lead plates. Light it and run - it leaves a crater around 90 blocks wide and a contaminated area that fades over two hours. Server owners can switch it off in the Faktocraft options.
Radiation
- Uranium, fuel rods, waste and plutonium are radioactive in chests, on the floor and in your pockets. A running reactor radiates on its own, and a meltdown or a nuke leaves fallout behind.
- Exposure builds up over time, ignores armor and eventually kills you. Walking away from the source makes it fade quickly.
- Lead blocks and reinforced stone stop almost all of it - a two-block lead wall makes a storage room safe. Reinforced stone also comes as a door now.
- The new Geiger Counter reads your current dose and clicks faster the worse it gets, and the Hazmat Suit is now full radiation protection on top of its fire and acid resistance.
Status Monitor
- A 3x2 wall panel that shows live information about any block you point at with the new Monitor Card: energy, tanks, progress, reactor heat. No power, no cables, no distance limit - the block only has to be in a loaded chunk, even in another dimension.
- Place panels side by side and the frame between them disappears, so you can build a control room wall. With Jade installed the panel shows Jade's own readout, including information other mods publish through it.
Prospecting
- The Geological Prospector and the Geological Scanner now share their scans through a 6-digit password: scan once, read it from any device set to the same number.
- Both screens were rebuilt around the same map, with a report tab and a rare-finds list that jumps straight to iridium or a giant oil pocket.
Logistics
- Recipe pipes can now work in batches, which finally makes brewing and other multi-item machines automatable.
- A large order is split across every machine that can make the item instead of queuing on one, and the network keeps feeding and draining machines continuously instead of waiting for a full set.
- Pipe screens grew to fit their contents and gained a help tab, so the module and recipe options explain themselves in game.
Rubber and decoration
- The old rubber sheet is now the Rubber Carpet, with a better texture and the same shape as a vanilla carpet, and there is a plain Rubber Block to build with. Rubber no longer slows you down when you walk on it.
Balance and fixes
- The Hybrid Solar Panel no longer needs iridium, the very-high transformer only steps voltage down, and the Geological Scanner now runs on Ultra.
- The Forester harvests every leaf block of a tree and charges half as much for leaves.
- Jade no longer splits worn items into separate entries: three half-used coolant cells read as "3x" again.
- Plenty of smaller bug fixes across pipes, energy networks and machines. All the new content is translated into the 12 supported languages.
