Faction Raids
Cinematic, tactical faction sieges for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge — turn any player's bed into a defensible stronghold, then hold it against a real army.
Faction Raids is a server-friendly PvE siege addon for Villager Recruits.
Any player's bed or respawn anchor is automatically registered as a stronghold — no admin setup, no world regeneration, and no custom blocks polluting your terrain. Then, on a rolling per-faction schedule, an enemy army marches on that home:
- Builds a real war camp with tents, banners, and a forward palisade
- Forms up into progressive waves with a declared casus belli — a reason for war
- Breaches your gates, doors, fences, and iron bars in real time
- Wades across rivers, drops bridges, and sails in on Small Ships warships
- Raises ladders over walls it can't path around
- Rolls out battering rams, catapults, and ballistae with Siege Weapons installed
- Sends stragglers back into the fight — or drops them from the wave count so a stuck mob never softlocks your raid
- Tries to hold the outer perimeter, then occupy the heart of your base — while you and your Recruits soldiers try to break them at the wall
Every siege ends with guaranteed emerald and campaign-loot rewards for the winning faction. Every block the enemy breaks is automatically restored when the battle ends. And every one of ~40 tunable systems lives in one config file you can rebalance without a restart.

Requirements
Minecraft: 1.20.1 Loader: Forge 47.x Java: 17 Hard Dependency: Villager Recruits 1.15.2+ Optional Integrations: Villager Workers, Small Ships, Siege Weapons Installation: Server and every connecting client
Optional integrations
Faction Raids automatically detects supported companion mods. They are not required for Faction Raids to load.
Villager Workers Protected civilians can also appear as camp lumberjacks and builders.
Small Ships Raiders can arrive aboard warships instead of relying exclusively on vanilla boats.
Siege Weapons Enemy armies can deploy battering rams, catapults, ballistae, and siege towers on the battlefield.
Zero-setup gameplay
- Install Faction Raids and Villager Recruits on the server and every client.
- Sleep in a bed or use a charged respawn anchor near the base you want to defend.
- Join or create a Villager Recruits faction if you're playing as a group.
- Continue playing.
That's it.
Faction Raids registers and updates your stronghold automatically. On your first login, you'll receive the Warlord's Codex, giving you access to the tactical command dashboard whenever you need it.
Server & performance notes
Server-friendly by default. Conservative defaults limit invasions to 30 active enemies, 35 globally, and one active invasion at a time. Waves automatically delay when server performance falls below approximately 18 TPS. These limits are configurable.
No custom blocks, biomes, or dimensions. Faction Raids doesn't depend on custom world generation. Removing the mod after active sieges have been stopped leaves normal terrain and player builds intact.
Version matching is required. Because the tactical dashboard uses a versioned Forge network channel, the server and every connecting client must use the same Faction Raids version.
Rewards
Every online faction member receives guaranteed emeralds, configurable XP, and a roll from the campaign loot table after an eligible successful defense.
A default five-wave victory with the commander defeated awards each online member:
48 guaranteed emeralds + bonus campaign loot
Server owners can replace:
data/factionraids/loot_tables/gameplay/invasion_victory.json
with a datapack to customize the items awarded after a successful siege.
Automatic scheduled sieges are reward-eligible. Manually started test raids are not by default, although this behavior can be changed through the configuration.
