Description

Minecraft Extremo 3 Adapted Mod

⚠️ Actively in development (v0.1.4) — expect changes and bugs. Please report any you find.

Server-side mod for Fabric (Minecraft 26.2) — required on both the server and every client. It turns a normal survival game into a day-by-day difficulty escalation: every so often, new Sulfuric variants of vanilla mobs show up, each one stronger and with its own special ability, until the season ends in a battle-royale-style Final Round.

Required dependencies

Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.3+, Fabric API, GeckoLib, and Java 25+ — required on both the server and every client.

Main features

  • Growing Sulfuric mob family: zombie, skeleton, creeper, cow, pig, chicken, rabbit, drowned, husk, slime, zombified piglin, warden, phantom, bat, bee, goat, squid, spider, cave spider, polar bear, breeze, blaze, ghast, magma cube, piglin, piglin brute, wither skeleton, hoglin, zoglin and more — each with its own ability (applying effects, exploding, carrying you into the air, flying…), scaled stats and special drops, all revealed gradually as the season's days go by.
  • Sulfuric Dragon boss: a flying, fire-immune boss with a boss bar and 6 abilities. An admin can even become the dragon live (/dragonform) to play the boss. Killing it opens a shared Reward Chest with configurable weighted loot.
  • Daily mission system, some of them mandatory — failing to finish one before the day ends costs you a life. Missions can be edited in-game with a visual editor.
  • Real lives (not just hearts): a Danger Level after eliminating another player, with permanently broken hearts and a real cooldown.
  • PVP with Vengeance: getting eliminated opens a chase with its own compass and HUD panels for both hunter and hunted. Optional Colosseum zone with always-on PVP.
  • Protection Core: a placeable block that protects an area (full height) from breaking/placing blocks and explosions, fueled with Coins — with a permanently clear gap around it so it can never be fully hidden.
  • Economy: physical Minecoin coins (stackable to 99, configurable), the Coin Well bank, and custom Trading Machines with templates you can export/import between servers.
  • Sealed chests and doors (password locks) and the Miner's Bag.
  • Shared waypoints, with a custom icon (emoji or item), visible in the world and/or on the compass, with a configurable view distance.
  • Custom ambient music per zone or per player: drop .ogg files in the world's musica/ folder and the mod packages them into a real Minecraft resourcepack (official protocol — hash-verified, with the client's own consent prompt), no need to recompile the mod. Mark as many music zones as you want with a wand, each with its own song. Automatic delivery on join is off by default (/music autopack); otherwise grab the generated .zip yourself from that same folder and hand it out however you like.
  • In-game editors for missions (/mision editor), loot (/loot editor) and Sulfuric mob stats/drops/abilities (/escalada editor) — no hand-editing JSON.
  • Custom HUD and UI: hearts, balance, compass, Vengeance panel, kill-feed, an active-mobs gallery with each mob's debut day, custom effects, re-textured vanilla container screens…
  • Configurable spawn-protection zone, WorldGuard-style (mark a region + extra buffer distance), plus decorative yellow-fog zones.
  • Final Round: end-of-season event — everyone drops to one life, forced PVP, and the world border closes in phases until only one survivor remains.

Config files

All of them live inside each world's save folder, under extremo3/ — they're generated automatically with default values the first time the server starts, no need to create them by hand. Most can be reloaded live with /reloadconfig.

  • escalada.json — catalog of Sulfuric mob tiers (debut day, health, speed, attack damage, special ability, drops). Editable in-game with /escalada editor.
  • misiones.json — catalog of daily missions (mandatory or optional). Editable in-game with /mision editor.
  • worldborder.json — closing phases of the Final Round's world border (size/duration of each stage).
  • drops.json — special-chest event settings (radius, spawn range, loot…).
  • bosses.json — boss settings (Sulfuric Dragon health/damage/abilities) and the Reward Chest's weighted loot.
  • config.json — general settings: PVP, lives, Protection Core, Vengeance, Danger Level, dimension blocking, ambient music volume, coin stack size, Home Fruit (fruta_del_hogar: use time, cooldown, unlock day), Sulfuric Carrot crop timing…
  • niebla_zonas.json, musica_zonas.json — the yellow-fog zones and the ambient-music zones you've marked.
  • anuncio.json, temporada.json, nexo_estado.json, waypoints.json, bloqueos.json, banco.json, candados.json, maquinas_estado.json, maquinas_custom.json, vidas.json, peligrosidad_jugadores.json, misiones_jugadores.json, cultivo_zanahoria.json — internal world state (progress, current day, placed Cores, waypoints, active blocks, lives, Danger Level, per-player mission progress…); no need to touch these by hand.

Commands

Every command marked (admin) requires Game Master permission (the old operator level 2). Everyone else can use the rest.

Mobs and difficulty

Command What it does
/sulfuric <type> (admin) Manually spawns a Sulfuric of the given type (with the current day's stats).
/day Checks the current season day.
/day <number> (admin) Sets the season day by hand.
/day force (admin) Reveals any "New Creature" pending for today right away, without waiting for its random 30-90 min window.
/day skipmob (admin) Reveals the next pending "New Creature" of the day immediately, one at a time.
/season reset (admin) Resets day, mob escalation, missions, boss kills, kill ranking and bank balances, and restores everyone's lives — without touching any admin config.
/escalada editor (admin) Opens the in-game editor for Sulfuric tiers (health, speed, attack damage, drops, ability text, "Difficulty Change").

Sulfuric Dragon (boss)

Command What it does
/summon extremo3:sulfur_dragon (admin) Summons the boss.
/dragonform <player> [off] (admin) Turns someone into the dragon to play the boss live (flies where you look; 6 abilities in the hotbar).

/mision announcer dragon (admin) Announces the Dragon Nest to the whole server.

PVP and lives

Command What it does
/pvp on / /pvp off (admin) Enables/disables server PVP.

/worldborder close <size> <minutes> (admin) Closes the border to a specific size over X minutes, without touching lives/PVP (for testing).
/worldborder cancel (admin) Cancels the event in progress without declaring a winner.

On the last day of the season (day 14 by default, duracion-dias in temporada.json) everyone automatically drops to 1 life, PVP is forced on and Vengeance is cancelled — only the border closing still needs /worldborder start.

Blocking

/music reload (admin) Rebuilds the music resourcepack .zip if the musica/ folder changed — does not send it to anyone.
/music autopack on|off (admin) Toggles automatic delivery of that resourcepack to players on join. Off by default.

Music zones (replace the old /music zone): mark any rectangle with a wand and give it a song — it plays in a loop, only to whoever is inside, at any height.

Command What it does
/musicazona wand (admin) Gives you the selection tool (left click = first corner, right click = second).
/musicazona create <id> (admin) Creates the zone from the two marked corners (silent until you give it a song).
/musicazona play <id> <sound> (admin) Assigns or changes the zone's song any time.
/musicazona delete <id> / /musicazona list (admin) Deletes a zone / lists them all.

Zone protection

Two independent radii around the marked zone, both configurable:

  • Strict radius (25 blocks by default): breaking/placing normal blocks is forbidden, same as inside the marked zone itself.
  • Total radius (100 blocks by default): beyond the strict radius and up to here, breaking/ placing normal blocks is allowed — the only thing still forbidden is placing a Protection Core.

Water/lava buckets can never be placed inside the marked zone itself (the "safe zone"), but are always free everywhere in the buffer (both radii).

Command What it does
/spawnprotection wand (admin) Gives you the tool to mark the spawn zone.
/spawnprotection accept (admin) Confirms the zone marked with the tool.
/spawnprotection on / /spawnprotection off (admin) Enables/disables the protection.
/spawnprotection info (admin) Shows the marked zone and both configured radii.

/spawnprotection clear (admin) Clears the marked zone.
/spawnprotection distance <blocks> (admin) Sets the total radius (blocks) — up to here, placing a Protection Core is forbidden.

/drop start (admin) Starts a special-chest event at a random point.
/drop start <x> <z> [radius] (admin) Starts it at specific coordinates.
/drop stop (admin) Stops it.
/drop auto on / /drop auto off (admin) Toggles the automatic timer (manual /drop start always still works).

/reloadconfig (admin) Reloads all (JSON) configuration without restarting the server.

Changelog

v0.1.4 — Sulfuric Dragon, in-game editors & music zones

  • Added the Sulfuric Dragon boss (flying, immune to fire and lava, boss bar; Breath, Roar, Charge, Bite, Tail Whip and Dive abilities), its Dragon Form (/dragonform) so an admin can play it live, and the shared Reward Chest with a 15-minute per-boss window and weighted loot editable in bosses.json. New day-1 mission "Defeat the Sulfuric Dragon", switchable with /mision reto.
  • Added three visual in-game editors: /loot editor (Drop and boss loot), /mision editor (redesigned, with icons and live preview) and /escalada editor (Sulfuric tiers — includes a new attack damage field). No more hand-editing JSON.
  • Added music zones (/musicazona): mark as many rectangles as you want with a wand, each with its own looping song, heard only by whoever is inside (any height). Replaces /music zone. Also added /music all and /music volume. Fixed music cutting off when a player died and respawned, and the resourcepack prompt repeating over and over with /music autopack on.
  • Added the Sulfuric Phantom (day 6, "Aerial Abduction": it grabs you and carries you up to ~35 blocks; break free by killing it or with an aim minigame). Squid and Goat now really attack; 6 mobs got their own abilities instead of the generic Corrosion (Piglin, Zombified Piglin, Mutant Husk, Bee, Goat, Squid); 13 mobs got their own texture.
  • Redistributed all new mobs across days 1–10 (the Nether opens on day 4). Added a Sulfuric Fire mechanic (Blaze/Ghast) that only Frozen Bone Broth or death can put out.
  • New items: Sulfuric Carrot (and a placeable, self-regenerating Sulfuric Carrot Crop), Frozen Sulfuric Bone, Frozen Bone Broth, Sulfuric Golden Apple (/goldenapple event), Sulfuric Armor.
  • The Home Fruit is now configurable in config.json (fruta_del_hogar: use time, cooldown, unlock day).
  • Documented and improved the Colosseum (/coliseo): PVP shows as active inside it even if global PVP is off.
  • New /timer, waypoint view distance and "always visible" waypoints (/waypoint viewdistance|alwaysvisible), improved Anti-Camping, and /season reset now also resets boss kills, kill ranking and bank balances.
  • The Protection Core now protects the full vertical column, not just a radius. The Sticky Bomb can optionally blow up sealed chests (romper_cofres) but never inside the safe zone.
  • Added an anti-copy check (tampered/renamed jars get a "non-official build" watermark) and a credit line on the title screen.
  • Fixed the shield: Sulfuric on-hit effects (Corrosion, Hunger, Bleeding…) no longer go through a raised shield. Fixed coins not stacking to 99 on dedicated servers. Warden Blind Sulfur: its day-5 "Difficulty Change" now raises the Enchanted Golden Apple drop from 3% to 7%. Corrosion/Bleeding deaths now show proper death messages instead of "died by magic". Custom loot (Reward Chest, Drop events) can no longer contain blocked items.
  • Fixed the Sulfuric Bat's hitbox not matching its model (it's now 1.3×2.8), the death kill-feed overflowing with long mob names, mandatory-mission punishment skipping players who were offline, and the "infinite bees" bug near beehives.
  • Performance fixes for ~90-player servers (cached mob-tier lookups, lower-frequency nametag and armor updates, Vengeance death cascade).

v0.1.3 — Parquet, UI reskin & Trading Machine overhaul

  • Added the Parquet block (with slab and stairs) and a full re-texture of vanilla container screens (inventory, chests, crafting table, furnace, enchanting table, anvil, smithing, brewing, villager trading) and the hotbar.
  • Coins can now stack to 99 instead of 64 — configurable per world (moneda section of config.json, off by default).
  • Trading Machine: animated lever with sound, repainted texture, and a completely redesigned "add offers" menu with typeable quantities, click-to-edit existing offers, and templates you can export/import between machines and servers.
  • Coin Well: correct creative icon. Chair: fixed placement direction, icon and texture. Yellow fog zones: no longer transparent at the edges, solid 80% opacity.
  • Added Spreen's Sunglasses (wearable). Fixed the victim not hearing the death sound. /season reset now restores everyone's lives.
  • Fixed the Chicken floating after spawning, and 6 mobs missing their ability text in the K menu.

v0.1.2 — Blocking, Xaero fair play & Vengeance fixes

  • Blocked the Autocrafter, and fixed blocked items still being craftable in the 3×3 table, still shown as craftable in the Recipe Book, and still pickable from the ground (/block pickup on|off).
  • New commands: /mute, /unmute, /mutelist, /chatmute, /reserve (reserved slots), /season reset and /reloadconfig.
  • Xaero's Minimap/World Map: entity radar, cave mode, minimap and waypoints are now forced off for every player automatically; fixed crashes on B/U keys and fake Xaero items showing in creative.
  • Danger Level no longer jumps a whole level per elimination — several are needed (configurable). In Red, each extra elimination adds 1 hour with a real 24 h cap.
  • Vengeance fixes: it now announces when you avenge yourself, no longer opens for fully-eliminated victims, cancels when the hunter dies of something else, and the HUD refreshes instantly.
  • Miner's Bag duplication fixed at its root. All vanilla axes now deal 6 damage (configurable). "You're in combat" notice, and a new spawn-protection flag to block entry while in combat.
  • Protection PVP/PVE enchantments now reduce exactly what vanilla Protection does at the same level. Vanilla Protection can no longer be combined in the anvil or fished from treasure.
  • Compatibility fix with NPC mods (EasyNPC): spawn-zone cleanup only touches Minecraft/this mod's mobs. Ice Slime freeze fixes (stuck screen, inherited fall damage, real damage over time).
  • Coin Well can be rotated after placing it (Shift + right click, Game Master). Creeper Sulfuric explosion radius lowered from 6 to 4 to avoid lag. Home Fruit channel time lowered from 15 to 12 seconds.

v0.1.1 — Nether mobs, Drop overhaul & persistence fixes

  • Added 8 new Sulfuric Nether mobs: Blaze, Ghast, Magma Cube, Piglin, Piglin Brute, Wither Skeleton, Hoglin and Zoglin, each with its own ability (debuting days 3-6). Blocked the Strider (no longer spawns).
  • Lives, permanent broken hearts, Danger Level and daily mission progress now survive closing/reopening a world or restarting the server (were memory-only before). Also fixed the extra-life-from-armor bonus disappearing after death until re-equipping the armor.
  • Drop event: wave mobs now spawn near the chest (not anywhere in the whole zone), no longer get stuck/suffocate inside terrain, and the wave pool now draws from the whole Sulfuric family (day-gated) instead of a fixed list of 3. Added /drop auto on|off, plus Vampiric Strength Potion and Liquid Totem to the loot (low chance). The reference Drop structure is now bundled inside the mod itself — no world file needed unless you want to use your own instead.
  • Added /vengeance restorelife on|off (off by default): optionally restores a life when you kill your own killer, closing your Vengeance.
  • Fixed a crash when opening any inventory (a missing enchantment registry entry could bring down the whole game instead of just skipping the affected item).
  • Blocked items (Spears, Totem of Undying) can no longer deal damage or save you from death while blocked — blocking now covers passive effects too, not just crafting/placing/using.
  • Waypoint creation/editing is now admin-only; /waypoint list (viewing) stays open to everyone.
  • Rebalanced coin rewards on daily missions (days 2-13, ~20% lower).
  • Fixed long death messages (e.g. fall damage) overflowing the kill-feed card.
  • Documented GeckoLib as a required dependency.
  • Fixed a Trading Machine duplication bug: rapidly shift-clicking the result slot granted the item for free without deducting payment.
  • Fixed the Trading Machine's customize screen: outline no longer mismatches the real slot hitbox, and items no longer fail to drop near the edge of the screen.
  • Rebuilt all banner animations (Life Lost, Eliminated, PVP on/off, Difficulty change) as real animated GIFs instead of sprite sheets — properly centered, correct size, no more garbled textures or a top-left-shifted image, and the phrase now sits right below the animation instead of floating with a gap. Also fixed a terrain-loading freeze caused by decoding these on the main thread.
  • Death banners: the victim now sees "You lost a life" / "You lost all your lives", while everyone else sees the third-person version — both share the same animation. The elimination sound is now louder and plays to every player, not just the victim.
  • Added /day skipmob (admin): reveals the next pending "New Creature" of the day immediately, one at a time, restarting that slot's normal wait for whatever's queued after it.
  • Fixed a bug where a fully eliminated player stayed alive/interactable for a few seconds before actually switching to spectator.
  • Lowered the difficulty/mob-reveal sound's volume.
  • Added a new PVP-activation GIF, replacing the last sprite-sheet-based banner — all 6 banner types now use the same animated-GIF system.
  • Added initial compatibility with Xaero's Minimap / World Map (fully optional, only if installed): the mod's own waypoints now also show up on Xaero's map automatically.
  • Rewrote the entire daily mission catalog (all 13 days): no more repeated objectives anywhere in the season, and every mandatory mission now uses a safe, always-achievable target (no rare structures/biomes, no enchantment-RNG dependencies).
  • Fixed a race where a player's own waypoints wouldn't show up on Xaero's map right after joining (the sync ran once, too early, before the server's waypoint catalog had arrived, and never retried).
  • Added optional Xaero "fair play" support (only if Xaero's Minimap is also installed server-side): every player automatically gets "No Entity Radar" (can't see players/mobs as dots on the map) at all times, plus "No Cave Maps" (doesn't reveal unexplored caves) available via the new /xaero cave on|off (admin) — off by default.
  • Fixed those same effects showing a giant hour count instead of the ∞ symbol in the inventory screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the word "Defecto" ("Default") would flash or get stuck floating in the world when Xaero's Minimap was also installed — caused by the waypoint sync rebuilding Xaero's entire third-party waypoint set on every retry instead of only what actually changed.
  • Added /xaero minimap on|off (admin, on by default): toggles the new "No Minimap" fair-play effect, alongside the existing /xaero cave on|off. Both are now hidden from the inventory effects screen (the always-on "No Entity Radar" effect stays visible).
  • Drop events now place a shared waypoint at the chest the moment the event starts, and remove it automatically the moment it ends (works with or without Xaero installed).
  • Automatic Drop events are now capped at 3 per in-game day (the manual /drop start command is never limited).
  • Vampiric Strength Potion's duration shortened from 3 minutes to 30 seconds.
  • Added a new mob: Sulfuric Bat — bigger, tougher and more aggressive than a normal bat (with a proper hitbox and search range to match), spawns in caves and on the surface, debuting day 2. Applies Hunger on hit and sometimes a new Bleeding effect, and drops a Bat Ear. The Gelatinous Sulfur Cube now debuts day 1 (right after the Blind Warden) instead of day 2.
  • Fixed the "life lost" sound playing twice to the victim on a non-final death — it's now heard once by the victim, and separately by every other player watching.
  • Fixed the Trading Machine losing all enchantments, potion effects and custom lore on any custom trade — both ingredients and the result now keep their exact item data instead of being rebuilt as a plain, unenchanted item.
  • Fixed a residual Drop lag/freeze: when no custom schematic is configured, placing the ore veins and the vanilla structure now pre-loads every chunk they touch asynchronously first, instead of only the chest's own chunk (a neighboring un-generated chunk could still trigger a synchronous terrain-generation freeze).
  • The Drop's waypoint now shows in orange on the compass, instead of the default green used by regular waypoints.
  • Drop schematics without their own floor now get a forced grass floor placed under the whole footprint, instead of leaving whatever terrain (or a hole) happened to be there.
  • Drop events that nobody starts (no one clicks the chest) within 30 minutes of appearing now cancel themselves automatically — configurable via drops.json.
  • Sulfuric Bat: fixed it not actually attacking (it now flies straight at its target instead of just wandering randomly and hoping to bump into you), its hitbox now matches its real visual position, and it settles near the player once in range instead of repeatedly overshooting and circling around. Its hitbox has also been enlarged to make it easier to hit.
  • Added the Sulfuric Bat and the 8 Nether Sulfuric mobs to /sulfuric <type> — they were missing from the manual-spawn list.
  • Fixed the Sulfuric Bat's name showing as a raw untranslated key in death messages, and added a missing icon for the Bleeding effect.
  • Added /xaero waypoints on|off (admin, on by default): blocks players from creating their own Xaero waypoints, including the automatic death point.
  • The "No Waypoints" fair-play effect is now also hidden from the inventory effects screen, same as "No Cave Maps"/"No Minimap".
  • Sulfuric Bat: raised its health further, and added it to the Drop event's wave-mob variety pool (it was accidentally left out).
  • The Drop's announcement, and the Sulfuric Silverfish's ability description, now mention that you need to be at a similar height to count (matches how both already worked, just wasn't stated).
  • Added a proper colored name and lore to the Drop Key item, explaining what it actually does.
  • /announce now plays a sound right before showing the message, and uses a simpler, more colorful format instead of a single plain line.
  • Fixed the PVP-activation GIF: it's now properly assembled (right resolution, frame rate and pacing) to match the other banner animations — it previously wasn't showing correctly and felt sluggish.
  • Worlds updated from an older version of the mod now automatically get any new Sulfuric mob added since (previously, a world's escalada.json was only ever created once — new mobs added by a later mod update, like the Nether family or the Bat, would just never appear on that world until someone manually added them to the file). Only missing entries get added; anything already configured by hand is left untouched.

v0.1.0 — First public release

  • Growing Sulfuric mob family (Nether variants and more are planned; some existing mobs still need their own custom 3D model), each with its own ability.
  • Daily mission system (some mandatory).
  • Real lives, Danger Level, and PVP with Vengeance.
  • Raidable Protection Core (with a permanently clear gap around it).
  • Shared waypoints, custom ambient music, and a custom HUD.
  • Final Round: end-of-season event with a phased world border closure.
  • Configurable spawn-protection zone.

Actively in development — expect changes and bugs.

Reemplaza a /music zone. También añadidos /music all y /music volume.

  • Comandos nuevos: /mute, /unmute, /mutelist, /chatmute, /reserve (huecos reservados), /season reset y /reloadconfig.

  • Añadido /xaero minimap on|off (admin, activado por defecto): activa/desactiva el nuevo efecto "fair play" No Minimap, junto al ya existente /xaero cave on|off.

  • Waypoints compartidos, música ambiental propia y HUD personalizado.
