Exterminatus is a Minecraft optimization mod that stands out from the likes of OptiFine and Celeritas in that my goal is to give you, the players, the absolute maximum game performance.
Recommended JVM arguments
For fewer freezes, switch Java to the ZGC garbage collector. Add this to your launcher's JVM arguments:
-XX:-UseG1GC -XX:+UseZGC
ZGC collects memory without long pauses, so frame spikes during flight and chunk loading almost disappear
IMPORTANT - Cleanroom and MixinBooter are required for the mod to work correctly.
Compared to OptiFine or Celeritas (and frankly, any other optimization mod), my Exterminatus implements not just "optimization," but a rewrite of the render pipeline from the CPU to the GPU, along with multithreading the game. As a result, chunk generation is accelerated, freezes and frame time instability are eliminated, and the gameplay itself becomes as smooth as possible.
At the moment, Exterminatus is in the development stage. The version is marked as Prototype-1 because it may not always be stable and can cause errors with MANY optimization mods. Below are the mods that Exterminatus will never be compatible with: OptiFine, Celeritas, Pulsar Lighting Engine, Alfheim, Phosphor, Hesperus, Multithreaded mob AI, AI Improvements, Valkyrie, Chunk Pregenerator, Nothirium.
Mods you will no longer need after installing this mod: Particle Culling, Smart Particles.
