A late-gameish system of progression through sacrifices. who knows what they will cost..
Excrutiating Power is a mod that adds a whole new system of progression in Minecraft... Sacrifices. how this works is one player, goes to the Sacrificial Table and puts in a blood tome and the item they wish to evolve. in doing so, they upgrade the item, but decrease their maximum hearts in the health bar. now this isnt a effect, it stays with you after death, you may be asking: How do i get the health back to normal then? well each sacrifice gives you a Heart Vessel, if you combine 9 of these, your maximum hearts goes back to normal. As of now, only a few items can be upgraded. they are: netherite sword > Crimson Halfsword blaze powder > Crimson Powder (used to brew Leeching Potions) and 2 collectibles.
Collectibles: Dune Armor Trim > Scar Armor Trim Music Disc 5 > Aidan Haglund - Falling Below (each of these recipies costs three hearts) there is also a leeching enchantment that is only obtainable in creative for now it inflicts leeching on the mob you attack for 5 seconds. there are 4 stages stage 1: 2 hearts. stage 2: 3 hearts. stage 3: 4 hearts. and stage 4: 5 hearts.
