# Changelog - 2026-09-20

> This batch covers **1.19.0** through **1.45.0**, grouped by theme.
> For the full detail of any single version, see `REPORTS/<version>.md`.

---

## 1. Terminal Scar and Guixu (1.19.0 - 1.20.0)

* **Terminal Scar** no longer carves a fixed amount. The scar is now a percentage of the target's max health, so large targets can be ground down too.
* Guixu's harvest pool now converts into an **attack damage bonus** - the more you have banked, the harder the blade carves.

---

## 2. Spacetime Anchor and Spacetime Steel (1.21.0 - 1.23.0)

* **Fixed a serious cross-dimension rewind problem** with the Spacetime Anchor.
* Six Spacetime Steel items got new textures (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots, axe, shovel).
* The Anchor gained **"cancel death"**, which also stops methods that bypass normal death protection.

---

## 3. Heat Death, the Last Fluctuation, Long Night (1.25.0 - 1.33.1)

* New material **Heat Death**, the endpoint of a path parallel to Spacetime Steel.
* New curio **The Last Fluctuation** - it quietly accumulates, and once full your next hit ignores every form of immunity. Using it brings it closer to spent.
* New weapon **Long Night**, a black blade without an edge.
* **Long Night's second form, "Long Night - Edgeless"**, unlocked by completing a challenge. Right-clicking fires **Event Erasure**, wiping everything currently active on the target (effects, invulnerability, fire, motion, mob affixes).
* Both forms gained **item descriptions**, and **four advancements** were added.
* **Fixed see-through notches on the blade** by filling them from neighbouring pixels, over two passes.

---

## 4. The life scar cap was computed wrong (1.34.0)

* `capFor` returns **"how much can be removed in total"**. I had been treating it as **"how low it can be taken"** - those two were mixed up, and as a result both rules were inverted.
* Before: Terminal Scar could only remove 1 point from a 48-health mob, and the first four stages only removed a tenth.
* After: stage V grinds a target down to 1 point of max health, and the first four stages remove at most 90%.
* **This is why Terminal Scar had stopped working on the Steel Guardian.** It also cleared a large batch of self-test failures, from 17 down to 7.

---

## 5. Long Night now deals "heat death damage" (1.35.0)

* A new custom damage type carrying **all seven bypass tags** - armour, resistance, protection enchantments, invulnerability frames, shields and absorption all play no part.
* The vanilla hit is cancelled outright and re-dealt as heat death damage.

---

## 6. The Last Fluctuation rebuilt as "Uniformity" (1.36.0 - 1.42.1)

* The Fluctuation was labelled a heat-death endgame curio, but its cost was dozens of times lower than Guixu's, so that label did not hold up.
* **It is now a material, and the endgame curio is called Uniformity** - Guixu's counterpart. The names pair up: Guixu takes what was carved away, Uniformity takes every difference.
* **Uniformity has two abilities:**
  * **Charged pierce**, inherited unchanged from the Fluctuation (twelve uses; once charged, your next hit ignores all immunities).
  * **Uniformity**: damage you take is flattened to one fixed value - armour, crits and source stop mattering. A hundred points becomes 4, **and one point becomes 4 as well**; both sides flattened together is what heat death means.
* The Fluctuation's strike now **also carves a life scar**, which feeds Guixu's harvest pool by its rules.
* **Long Night's damage does not feed that pool** - it lands on every hit, and letting it in would be an infinite engine.
* The pierce gained a **third layer**: writing the health field by reflection, to get past an overridden `setHealth`.
* The recipe now **matches Guixu's cost**: Fluctuation x1 + Terminal Singularity x2 + Compressed Nether Star x4.

---

## 7. The curio slot saga (1.36.0 - 1.41.0)

This took many rounds, and the real cause turned out to be a single thing:

* **That dedicated slot was never granted to the player.** Curios had the slot registered and the item really was a curio, but the login-time grant list did not include it - so the player simply never had that cell.
* Everything checked along the way was correct but was not the cause: the curio interface, the item tag, the slot definition, the display name.
* Two genuinely missing pieces were fixed on the way: **the display-name language key** (1.39.0) and **the item model file** (1.42.0 - a missing model renders as the purple checkerboard).
* The self-test was changed too: it now **lists the slot files out of the packaged jar** and requires each of them to appear in the grant list. The old check compared two lists that had both missed the same entry, so it could never catch this.
* Uniformity can now be equipped normally, and its tooltip shows "Slot: Uniformity".

---

## 8. Item duplication (1.43.0 - 1.44.0)

* Reported in game: **Apollyon repeatedly confiscates eternity-bound curios in its final phase**, then returns them - and the player ended up with **86 of them**.
* The mechanism: it takes one, our reconciliation sees the id vanish and restores one, **while the copy in its hands is never destroyed**. One confiscation, one restore, then everything is returned at once.
* The fix: **when restoring, the item gets a fresh id and the old id is voided forever.** No matter how many times it is taken, you can only ever hold one.
* **Plus a disarm grace period**: after an item goes missing, nothing is restored straight away. Every further confiscation pushes the timer back, so "constantly confiscating" means "never restoring"; only after five quiet minutes is it treated as truly lost. Bosses that give things back leave you with exactly what you started with.

---

## 9. Config and text (1.45.0)

* 1.40.0 demoted the Fluctuation to a material but **left the config keys and descriptions under the old name**, so it looked like two separate things existed.
* Keys renamed from `fluctuation_*` to `uniformity_*`, descriptions rewritten.
* The Fluctuation's item description now simply says it is a material, instead of describing a mechanic it no longer has.

---

## About upgrading

* **The config keys were renamed.** Your old values for those will be dropped and rebuilt from defaults. The defaults match the previous values, so the feel is unchanged - but if you had tuned them, you will need to set them again.
* Within this batch, **1.34.0** (life scar cap) and **1.43.0 - 1.44.0** (item duplication) are the ones you should definitely take.
