Etched Gate
Staff approval for the music links players put on Etched discs and radios.
Etched lets anyone type a URL into an Etching Table or a Radio and play it to everyone nearby. Great with friends, risky on a public server. Etch Gate holds every new link until staff have looked at it.
How it works
- A player enters a link. Instead of going through, it waits for review, and the player is told so.
- Every online op gets the link in chat with clickable [Approve] and [Deny] buttons.
- Approving a link approves it for everyone, so a popular song only gets reviewed once.
- Ops skip the review. In singleplayer, so does the world's owner.
- Each player can have up to 3 links waiting at once.
Denying takes it back
A denied link stops playing on discs that already exist, including copies and discs inside album covers. Block a whole website at once with /etchgate blockhost.

Good to know
- Approvals are for the exact link.
site.com/songandsite.com/song/are different links, so nobody can get one approved and then swap in the other. - An approval covers the link, not the file behind it. If a site changes the file later, deny the link or block the site.
- Artist and title text on music labels isn't checked. Use a chat filter mod for that.
- Players in creative mode can edit disc data directly, so only survival players are gated.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge
- Etched 5.x
- Only the server needs it; players joining don't. Works in singleplayer too.
