Equivalent Legacy

Equivalent Legacy brings the classic Equivalent Exchange-style gameplay to modern Minecraft (26.2 / NeoForge): assign an EMC (Energy-Matter-Currency) value to items, transmute them into each other, and progress through the Philosopher's Stone toolchain.

What's new

v1.1.4 - The Alchemist's Codex had the same cover as every other guide book

Bugfix release for Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge 21.1.249. No gameplay or EMC changes.

Fixed

  • The Alchemist's Codex looked identical to the other guide books in the pack. The guide is a single shared item — vellumli:guide_book — identified by a vellumli:book data component instead of having its own registry entry, and its book definition never declared a model. Vellumli therefore fell back to its default cover, vellumli:item/book_brown: the Codex rendered with the exact same book as the Workhand Guide and The Almanac, and the EMC value in its tooltip belonged to the shared item rather than to this book. The Codex now declares its own model and ships its own cover.

Added

  • assets/equivalent_legacy/textures/item/guide.png and models/item/guide.json — the Alchemist's Codex cover: a garnet tome with the alchemical transmutation mark in gold and gold corner pieces, drawn in the mod's own palette and instantly distinguishable from the other two guide books and from Vellumli's generic book variants. No new item, no new registry entry, no Java changes.

Notes

This is a Vellumli-dependent fix: Vellumli resolves a per-book cover at runtime from the book definition, which is why no code had to change. Requires the same Vellumli as before (1.0.0 or newer on 1.21.1) — it is already a required dependency of the project.
