🐴 What is Equine+?

Equine+ is a SWEM care overhaul add-on created by Asheerah, Lilisssaa, notmelbee, and Sc4ry_Dreams. Originally made for Moira EQMC, it adds new SWEM horse mechanics, including a new health tab that has an age, personality, and illness section. The mod adds a completely new functional vet system, among other things, for realistic gameplay. The goal of Equine+ is to create an even more realistic Equestrian experience with SWEM!

Horse ID #'s

Horses now have assigned numerical ID #'s for easy identification. OP players can teleport to horses with their ID using /swem horse (ID) teleport

ID Command List:

/swem horse (ID) teleport - OP ONLY, Teleports the player to the horse with the specified ID. Keep in mind the horse needs to be loaded to be teleported to.

/swem horse ID set (ID) - OP ONLY, Sets the horse's ID to the selected number. This is typically used for if a horse gets deleted by lag/crashes and needs to be respawned.

Ages

Horses now have base ages of Yearling, Adolescent, Adult, and Senior. Additionally, they also have a numerical age. The values of the numerical ages can be changed in the config file. If not disabled in the config, horses will also die of old age at the end of senior time.

Ages Command

/swem horse age (age) 0 0 0 - OP ONLY, Allows the player to set the horse's age to the specified one. In the (age), select from "Yearling", "Adolescent", "Adult", or "Senior". The 0 0 0 in order is the amount of years, months, and days old the horse is.

By default, 1 year is 84 days, 1 month is 7 days, and 1 day is 1 day.

Personalities

Horses now have functional personalities. Here's the personality they can have:

Gentle - refuses less
Stubborn - trains faster and refuses more
Lazy - trains slower
Social - trains faster around other horses
Athletic - receives a small speed and jump boost
Loyal - receives a small speed and jump boost when ridden by owner

Personality Command

/swem horse personality (personality) - OP ONLY, Allows the player to change the horse's personality to the specified one.

Veterinarian

Your horse can get sick if you don't take care of it, and randomly, too! Be sure to brush, hoofpick, and fly spray your horse(s) daily to avoid basic sickness. Keep in mind all illnesses are treatable if not curable, and none of them will directly harm your horse.

To get access to vet commands, make sure you have the vet key. Any OP can player can assign someone the vet key. The command to assign the vet key is /swem hv key assign (user) swem:vet

Vets can vaccinate, diagnose, and perform surgery on horses.

Please keep in mind that the Clipboard, X-ray, Ice pack, Horseshoe, Nippers, Hoof knife, and Rasp items are all DECORATIONAL only (temporarily).

Vet Commands

/swem horse cure - OP ONLY, Cures the ridden horse of all illnesses.

/swem hv key assign (user) swem:vet - OP ONLY, Allows the player to assign the vet key to someone. Players with the vet key are able to diagnose and treat horses.

/swem hv diagnose - VET ONLY, Allows the player to diagnose the horse for treatment. The diagnosis will show up in the horse's Health GUI.

/swem hv surgery (surgery) - VET ONLY, Allows the player to perform the specified surgery to cure the horse of broken bones/cataracts.

/swem hv inject - VET ONLY, Allows the player to provide maintenance injections for illnesses like kissing spine and arthritis.

/swem hv vaccine (value) - VET ONLY, Gives the player the specified vaccinations to vaccinate a horse with. Use the "ALL" value to get all of them at once for a full-set.

Abcess : happens randomly, treated with Epsom Salt and Vet Wrap for 7 days
Arthritis : happens randomly but is more common in senior horses, NOT CURABLE - treated with weekly injections
Broken Bone : happens randomly, treated with surgery by a vet
Cataracts : happens randomly, treated with surgery by a vet
Colic : happens randomly, it will go away after some time (no treatment)
EPM : happens randomly, NOT CURABLE - treated with anti-inflammatory pills daily
Fractured Bone : : happens randomly, treated with surgery by a vet
Gastric Ulcers : happens randomly, treated with GastroGard for 7 days
Hoof Bruise : happens randomly, treated with Epsom Salt for 7 days
Kissing Spine : happens randomly, NOT CURABLE - treated with weekly injections
Laminitis : happens randomly, NOT CURABLE - treated with anti-inflammatory pills daily
Lyme : happens randomy with lower chances if horse is fly sprayed often, treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory pills for 7 days
Mange : caused by not being brushed, treated with Ivermectin for 3 days, IT IS CONTAGIOUS
Mouth Ulcers : happens randomly, treated with Antibiotics for 3 days
Navicular : happens randomly, NOT CURABLE - treated with pain relief pills and regular injections
Rain Rot : caused by not being brushed, treated with Medicated Shampoo for 3 days
Small Cut : happens randomly, treated with Terramycin Spray and Vet Wrap for 2 days
Thrush : caused by not having hooves picked, treated with Thrush Buster for 4 days
White Line : happens randomly, treated with Thrush Buster for 7 days

Diseases

Worms : happens randomly if not dewormed, treatment with Ivermectin for 7 days, IT IS CONTAGIOUS
Tetanus : happens randomly if not vaccinated, treated with Antibiotics for 7 days
West Nile : happens randomly if not vaccinated, NOT CURABLE - treated with anti-inflammatory pills
Botulism : happens randomly if not vaccinated, treated with surgery by a vet
Influenza : happens randomly if not vaccinated, treated with Antibiotics for 7 days, IT IS CONTAGIOUS
Strangles : happens randomly if not vaccinated, treated with Antibiotics for 7 days, IT IS CONTAGIOUS
EHV : happens randomly if not vaccinated, NOT CURABLE - treated with anti-inflammatory pills, IT IS CONTAGIOUS

Brands

Horses can now have functional brands. Equine+ brands are meant to mimic cold or hot brands that typically go on a horse's side.

Brand Commands

/swem brand create "brand" - Allows the player to create a brand. Keep in mind you can only have one brand at a time. If the brand is a symbol or contains spaces, wrap it in quotes ("") when doing the command.

/swem brand list - Sends a list of all players' brands.

/swem brand abandon - Allows the player to abandon their brand if they want to make a new one. Keep in mind horses can not be re-branded.

/swem brand co-owner add (user) - Allows a brand owner to add a co-owner to their brand. The co-owner can brand horses with the brand they co-own.

/swem brand co-owner remove (user) - Allows the player to remove a co-owner from their brand.

/swem horse brand - Allows the player to brand the horse they are sitting on. The brand will show up in their Health GUI.

Add a "cost" to brands in the config if you're on a server that has an economy!

Miscellanious Commands

/swem horse rename - Allows the player to rename the horse they're sitting on without the use of a nametag. For names with spaces or symbols, wrap it in quotes ("").

/countdown - Sends a "3, 2, 1, GO" countdown in chat. Best used for races or speed-based competitions where a timer is needed.

Tokens

Equine+ adds tokens that assists players in taking care of their horses. Here are all of the tokens they may apply:

"/swem horse token:(token)" : This command will apply the token of your choosing to the horse without the use of items.

"/swem horse remove token:(token)" : This command will remove any tokens of your choosing from the horse.

Temporary Immortality Token : This token does NOT have a physical item. It can only be applied by an OP with the following command: "/swem horse token:temporary_immortality". This token provides the horse with temporary immortality - this means it will stop aging past an adult and can't die of old age. The token is temporary because if the horse is transferred to another player, the immortality will go away.

Immortality Token : This token can be applied with either a physical item or command. This token provides the horse with permanent immortaly, meaning it will stop aging past an adult and can't die of old age.

Eternal Wellness Token : This token can be applied with either a physical item or command. This token provides the horse with eternall wellness, meaning it can never get sick or hurt. It will always be healthy!

Instant Health Token : This token can be applied with a physical item or the cure command. This token will instantly cure the horse of all current illnesses afflicting it.

📌 FAQ

How do I give a horse dewormer?

Use the ivermectin item from the GMC (creative) menu or "/give".

How do I vaccinate my horse?

Use the command "/swem hv vaccine (vaccine you want / ALL)". If you can't run this command, first assign yourself with the vet key using "/swem hv key assign (user) swem:vet".

How do contagious diseases spread?

Contagious diseases will spread between horses automatically within a 10 block radius. You should keep healthy / non-contagious horses at least 10 blocks away from infected ones to prevent an outbreak.

Why is my horse slow / not moving?

Sick horses are unable to be ridden and will become extremely slow. To fix it, you can either treat them normally or cure them with the "/swem horse cure command".

How do I kill my horse?

With Equine+, horses automatically become indestructible. You can use the command "/swem horse trigger death" to kill them. Additionally, if you have a mob capturing mod installed, you can capture them then delete the item as well.

How do I undo the effects of tokens?

To remove a token from a horse, use the "/swem horse token remove:(token)" command.

Can I use Equine+ on a server?

Equine+ is fine on smaller servers, but it is not recommended for larger servers due to the amount of lag it can generate depending on the amount of SWEM horses you have in the world. Sticking to singleplayer usage only is recommended.

Does Equine+ work with SWEM Addendum horses?

Yes, Equine+ works with both base SWEM and SWEM Addendum horses.

Will Equine+ be updated to 1.21.1+?

It's currently unlikely that Equine+ will be brought over to 1.21.1.

Will Equine+ be backported to 1.16.5 or 1.18.2?

Equine+ will not be backported to any previous versions with SWEM.
