Flaskbound
Flaskbound is a Minecraft 1.20.1 mod that adds an RPG-style vial system designed to make healing more tactical, meaningful, and visually clear.
Instead of relying on vanilla regeneration from keeping your hunger bar full, Flaskbound gives players a dedicated way to recover health through equipable vials with charges, cooldowns, and distinct effects. Food still restores hunger and saturation, but it no longer serves as the main source of passive healing, giving each vial much more value during combat and exploration.
Features
- Equipable vials with a dedicated use system.
- Player-wide shared charges, so they are not simply reset when switching vials.
- Cooldowns between uses to prevent uncontrolled healing.
- Different vial types with their own identity, including direct healing and additional effects.
- Natural health regeneration from food and saturation disabled to give more importance to the vial system.
- Clearer and more decorated tooltips designed to better display attributes, effects, and important timings.
- Built toward a more RPG-like experience, with a visual HUD for the equipped vial, charges, cooldown, and recharge progress.

Mod Philosophy
The goal of Flaskbound is to turn healing into an active decision. In vanilla Minecraft, staying full is often enough to recover health over time; in Flaskbound, players must prepare, equip the right vial, and manage their resources carefully. This makes combat more engaging, gives risk more weight, and makes recovery feel like a real gameplay mechanic instead of an automatic background system.
Best For
Flaskbound fits especially well in adventure, RPG, progression, or more challenging survival modpacks. If you want healing to have more identity, more control, and a stronger presence in the interface, this mod is built for that.
