Curse Maven Snippet
This version has been in testing for a long while now, adding new mechanics and adjusting old ones. With that said this changelog likely does not go into everything that has been added since it has been a long time (good to see you all again by the way <3) I (Doctor Rogue) decided to write this changelog because I figured hey it may be fun, Quarris will probably write the future ones still but I decided to give it a shot (we will just keep it a secret between us) :)
Too many bugs to list here have been fixed.
Added the Busted effect, preventing healing and preventing negative effects from being cleansed. Busted is applied when taking damage from darkness for 10 seconds, and when intercepting a players death with the Soul Sentinel enchantment for 60 seconds.
Most items that produce a light level of 4 or higher now temporarily ward off darkness while in hand (for an intuitive interaction with Dynamic Lights, however the mod is not required for this functionality.) This mechanic is known as "Burnout". Burnout rates are affected by rain and water depending on the item being held. Sea Lanterns for example burn slower in rain and water rather than faster like a torch would.
Added several potion effects that are granted through the burning of unique items (Beware the Cyan Candle...)
New potion effects include Caster, Death Ward, Piercer, Easy Target, and the aforementioned Busted effect.
Caster reduces the maximum time a line can be in the water before a fish bites.
Piercer ignores a small portion of armor and makes arrows pierce an additional target (including bows.)
Easy Target makes you take more damage from mobs and allows them to see you through walls.
You can guess what Death Ward does I imagine.
Darkness now burns your items quicker briefly if darkness has closed in too much already.
Players joining for the first time get the Soul Veil effect for 90 seconds instead of around 5 minutes.
Players joining after the first time get an effect called Soul Guard, which lasts for about 20 hours or until you move.
Many config options have been added, this should allow players and modpack creators to add their items to the burnout list, and tweak how they work. A lot can be done with this, such as having it grant items, potion effects, and more.
UI has been cleaned up a bit.
There is now a mode that can be enabled in the config called "Nightmare Mode" Nightmare mode increases the damage dealt by darkness significantly (able to kill in 3 hits) and causes busted to last 3x longer (30 seconds instead of 10).
Note: I may end up making this more interesting later, currently Nightmare Mode isn't 100% to my liking, but I also want people to have a small challenge increase available.
