LARGE CHANGES PLEASE READ

Data Storage Cell Redesign

EC handled Data Storage via pure NBT on items, in an effort to improve game stability, and general performance this is no longer done.

Contents are now kept in the world's save instead of on the item, so large cells no longer bloat item data. Existing cells are converted automatically the first time they're used, but if you're paranoid, I'd suggest making a backup of your world before updating, just in case.

A bunch of new Server Config Options are available now to help out server hosts, allowing them to get really indepth with how EC handles data storage, although I'd recommend default settings for 99% of cases.

Some new commands have been added to help with large EC data files as well as restore commands which were previously not possible, it's now feasible to recover a deleted drive.

/engineeredcomputation cells compact shrinks the cell save file if possible.

/engineeredcomputation cells cleanup sweeps the world and removes data for cells that no longer exist (this can take a while and cause some lag, will provide a warning before this is done).

/engineeredcomputation cells backups, backup and restore this command allows you to list all known removed cells and allow you spawn one back to a player or drop it in the world.

New Stuff

Storage Analyzer (Era 5 Only).

you can place it like an importer / exporter on to any inventory and the contents are visible in the network.

This also works for Era 1 Receiving Stations, which shows the entire Pneumatic Network as known by the Tabulator Machine.

Analyzed items show in the Floppy Disk Terminal as faded entries with a blue lens, you can request these items to be imported at any time. Note that items in an inventory are imported straight away, whilst items in a Pneumatic Network have a request sent to the connected receiving station, it will wait until the items arrive before importing them.

Right-click the analyzer to choose how autocrafting behaves for these requests.

Pattern Floppy changes: New Send pattern type, essentially it allows you to have a request to the Advanced Data Processor to send items and expect nothing in return.

Patterns can now be set to Fuzzy inputs and Fuzzy outputs, allowing more effective recipes (wood related ones work really nicely here)

Put an item in a Direct pattern's result slot to fill in its recipe, click again to cycle through other recipes for it. Also works by dragging from JEI.

Terminal improvements:

  • Sort by name or count, ascending or descending, using the new buttons beside the search bar.
  • Right-click the search bar to clear it.
  • The Floppy Disk Terminal has a button to show both stored and craftable items, only craftable items, or hide items that can only be crafted.
  • Storage Analyzer items can be listed mixed in, at the top, at the bottom, or hidden.

Ponder support (optional): if Ponder is installed, hold the Ponder key over some of the Era 1 items for a few animated tutorials. (will be worked on more as the mod updates)

Patchouli support (optional): if Patchouli is installed, the guide items open the EC Handbook using Patchouli, has a chapter for each era, it also pulls live config values and has support for Patchouli's 3D multiblock previews. Sneak while using a guide to open the classic guide instead.

Floppy disk sounds: inserting or ejecting a disk in floppy-era drives and terminals now makes a sound, WIP subject to change, let me know if it's tolerable.

Bug Fixes

You can now craft more storage with your network, the previous behavior is still in place, but empty cells no longer fail to store allowing a craft to complete.

Fixed issues with lag preventing a multiblock from deforming properly, most apparent on servers.

The search hint no longer covers half the terminal when you press Tab to start typing.

Removed the leftover collision where the Disk Pack Mainframe's platter would have been, it's from an old model that I was testing and just forgot to remove for a long time.
