Description
Energized Enchantments
Enchantments need energy to work. Recharge your gear with lapis or any mod's FE charger.
Your enchanted gear now holds an energy charge. While it has energy, its enchantments work as usual. When it runs empty, every enchantment goes dormant at once (Mending and Unbreaking too) until you recharge it. Curses never switch off.
How it works
- Tools, weapons, armor, bows, crossbows, shields, elytras, fishing rods and tridents hold energy (FE), vanilla items and other mods' items alike.
- Capacity depends on the material: wood 5,000 FE, stone and copper 10,000, iron and gold 20,000, diamond 40,000, netherite 80,000.
- Each action costs a little energy: a hit, a block broken, a hit taken (each armor piece), a shot, a blocked hit, a second of elytra flight, a fishing cast, a trident throw.
- Empty gear: enchantments are greyed out as "dormant" in the tooltip and the enchantment glint fades.
Recharging
- By hand: right-click the item in your inventory with lapis lazuli (2,000 FE) or a block of lapis (18,000 FE).
- With machines: any mod's item charger works (FE in).
- Fuels and amounts are configurable.
In the world
- Enchanted loot, fishing catches and villager trades come partly charged (20 to 80 %).
- Mobs spawn with their enchanted gear charged.
Configuration
Every rule is in the config: capacities, costs, fuels, curses, glint, mobs, loot. In-game config screen. On a server, only the server's config counts (read-only for players); display options stay per player.
