Overview
Tired of seeing Endermen frantically teleporting around on the surface during rain, never actually escaping the water? This mod fixes that annoying visual bug by giving Endermen the intelligence to teleport underground when it's raining!
The Problem
In vanilla Minecraft, when Endermen take rain damage, they trigger their random teleport ability but often end up in another rainy spot. This creates a chaotic "glitchy" effect where they blink randomly across the surface without actually escaping the water damage.
The Solution
This mod makes Endermen smarter! When they take drowning damage from rain, they will now:
- Search for safe underground locations
- Teleport to spots with proper headroom (4 blocks of air)
- Actually escape the rain instead of surface-hopping
- Behave more logically and naturally
Features
- Smart Underground Teleporting: Endermen search downward for safe positions
- Two-Stage Search Algorithm: Fast random attempts first, then thorough searching if needed
- Proper Safety Checks: Ensures Endermen won't get stuck in tight spaces
- Performance Friendly: Limited search radius and attempts to prevent lag
- Vanilla-Compatible: Doesn't change any other Enderman behavior
How It Works
- Detection: When an Enderman takes drowning damage while standing in rain
- Intercept: Catches the teleport attempt and redirects it
- Search: Looks for safe underground positions within 16 blocks
- Teleport: Moves the Enderman to a protected underground location
