# EnchantWise
**Know what an enchantment does before you spend your levels.**
The enchanting table only gives you a name like "Smite II . . . ?" and leaves the rest to guesswork. EnchantWise adds a short, plain explanation right where you need it.
## Features
- **Enchanting table:** hover an option to see what the hinted enchantment actually does.
- **Max level:** shows the highest level of that enchantment, highlighted in gold when the table is offering the maximum.
- **Conflicts:** warns you which enchantments it can't be combined with, limited to the ones that fit the item you are enchanting (for example Smite vs. Sharpness on a sword, or Fortune vs. Silk Touch on a pickaxe).
- **Enchanted books:** every enchantment on a book gets its description underneath.
- **Tools, weapons and armor:** hold **Shift** to see the descriptions, so normal tooltips stay short.
All 43 vanilla enchantments are covered, including Lunge, Breach, Density and Wind Burst.
## Good to know
- **Client-side only.** Works in singleplayer and on any server, including vanilla ones.
- **No libraries required.** One file, no dependencies. Fabric API is optional.
- **Does not change gameplay.** It only adds text to tooltips.
- **Languages:** English and Polish. Translations other than English need Fabric API installed.
- **Plays nicely with others:** if Enchantment Descriptions, Idwtialsimmoedm or Enchantment Insights is installed, EnchantWise steps aside instead of showing duplicate text.
- **Modded enchantments** are described when their mod provides descriptions in the common `enchantment.<namespace>.<name>.desc` format.
## Requirements
- Minecraft 26.3
- Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer

- **AnvilWise** – shows what your anvil cost is made of and when swapping the two items is cheaper.
- **NoTooExpensive** – removes the anvil's "Too Expensive!" limit.
