Enchant Shop adds two craftable blocks that replace the vanilla enchanting table and anvil with a more intentional, progression-aware system.
Enchanter's Altar
A craftable upgrade to the vanilla enchanting table. Requires 15 bookshelves in the standard ring layout to function. Instead of random enchantments, you browse and purchase specific enchantments for any item — including enchanted books — at tiered prices:
- Vanilla levels — lapis lazuli + XP
- Over-level tiers (above vanilla max) — diamonds + XP
- Invincible tier — netherite + XP
- Unbreakable — a flat netherite + XP cost to apply the Unbreakable NBT tag (permanent infinite durability, mutually exclusive with Unbreaking and Mending)
Upgrades use delta pricing — you only pay the difference between your current enchantment level and the target. All prices are configurable via Mod Menu.
Also accepts Inscription Base to convert it into Inscription Fluid at the altar for 2 XP.
Crafting: amethyst + book + amethyst / diamond + enchanting table + diamond / obsidian + obsidian + obsidian
Inscription Table
A craftable naming station that replaces the anvil for item renaming. Insert any item, type a name, pick colors with the built-in 2D color picker (hue strip + saturation/brightness canvas), and apply text styles. Consumes Inscription Fluid on apply, which returns a glass bottle.
Features:
- Single color or gradient mode (smooth per-character color interpolation)
- Style toggles: Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Underline, Obfuscate
- Live preview updates as you type and pick colors
- Auto-fills the item's current name when inserted; clears when removed
- Apply button locks after use until something changes — no accidental double charges
Crafting: gold + amethyst + gold / book + amethyst + book / obsidian + obsidian + obsidian
Inscription Fluid
Consumed by the Inscription Table when applying a name. Craft Inscription Base (chorus fruit + glass bottle) then bring it to the Enchanter's Altar to inscribe it for 2 XP. Returns a glass bottle on use.
