English

  • Markarth: the city from Skyrim, with its canyon, waterfalls, river and the valley north of it, generates once per world (/locate structure rpginventory:markarth).
    • Where: on flat plains (sunflower plains and modded plains count), the flattest it finds, preferably with mountains around it.
    • The land: its mountains are solid and go down to the plains as natural rocky slopes, gentle parts with grass. Trees and beehives the world puts into it are cleared.
    • A real structure: cut in tiles of 8x8 chunks that structure mods like Structurify see (rpginventory:markarth and rpginventory:markarth_tile, Beard Box terrain adaptation by default; both override Structurify's global spacing by default, so its sparse-structures setting never thins Markarth out). No other structure starts on it or within 64 blocks of it, so nothing gets buried.
    • Built with the mod's Dwemer blocks: Dwemer metal on the bronze parts, the 4x5 Dwemer Gate at the main entrance, Dwemer Double Doors on the houses, braziers, fireplaces with their fire, hanging sconces, a dark oak waterwheel at the mill, stone brick walls and polished andesite streets, ferns and sweet berry bushes.
    • A town: villagers walk its streets and, with Guard Villagers installed, guards keep the streets, the gate and the stables, and the town bell hangs by the guard tower's door. Villagers and guards open and close Markarth's Dwemer doors like wooden doors (never a locked one, nor the doors of the Abandoned House and Understone Keep). By day, villagers go in and out of the Silver-Blood Inn through its door and spend a while in the hall, where the inn's own people live. The whole area is Plains, so its water never freezes.
    • No hostile spawns: no hostile mob of any mod spawns by itself anywhere in Markarth's area (spawners, eggs, commands, events and quests still work).
    • Use a new world.
  • Interiors in their own dimensions (like Skyrim's interior cells): you go through a passage door and come out in front of it again; adventure mode inside. Looking at a passage door, the interaction prompt says where it leads (Abandoned House, Understone Keep, Silver-Blood Inn, and Markarth from inside); each interior has a small world border around it.
    • Abandoned House: the ground floor left to rot and the cellar, where a locked Dwemer door hides Molag Bal's shrine.
    • Understone Keep: the whole keep behind its 3x6 door: entrance hall, great hall and the rooms behind it.
    • Silver-Blood Inn: the hall, and its two upper side doors open into the inn's rooms: on the left the room of the woman from the Dark Brotherhood quest, on the right the room for rent. Kleppr, the innkeeper, sells food, can't be killed and starts the House of Horrors with his rumors.
  • The House of Horrors quest now happens in Markarth, at the Abandoned House, and every player can do it once, without commands: ask Kleppr at the Silver-Blood Inn about rumors, and your own Tyranus, a Vigilant of Stendarr, waits outside the house. He goes in with you and Molag Bal orders his death. After the rumor it is one quest in stages (enter the house, turn on Tyranus, kill him, open the cellar, speak to Molag Bal, leave the house, free Logrolf, bring him to the altar, break him, give back the mace). Talk to Tyranus to turn on him ("Molag Bal wants you dead."), then kill him: his death puts the cellar key in the house's chest, and the altar waits in the cellar. The hunt for Logrolf starts once you leave the house (if he dies at the outpost before you speak to him, he is back there); you walk Logrolf to the altar, where he stays bound, and the Rusted Mace goes straight into your hand. Every player has their own Abandoned House, built fresh each time they go in.
  • Molag Bal's altar talks like a quest NPC: use it with E and it opens the same dialogue screen as Mebahel's NPCs, with Molag Bal's line for where you are in the quests. Once you serve him, the dialogue has "Drink from the blood fountain (become a vampire)" (or "(sate your thirst)" if you already are one) and "Leave.": giving back the mace or talking to him never turns you by accident.
  • Dwemer blocks and machines (creative tab Dwemer, in the bronze colours of Skyrim's Dwemer ruins):
    • Building: Dwemer Metal with its slab and stairs, the Dwemer Frieze and the Dwemer Grate (bronze bars that connect like iron bars).
    • Doors: Dwemer Door (2x3), Dwemer Double Door (2x3), Dwemer Wide Door (3x3), Dwemer Keep Door (3x6), Dwemer Bar Door (2x3), the Dwemer Gate (4x5) and the Dwemer Narrow Door (1x3). They open by hand, with the interact key (E), with redstone or with steam.
    • Steam: Dwemer Pipes connect by themselves; the Dwemer Valve sends steam down the run, and a pipe end with steam gives a redstone signal like a lever.
    • Dwemer Button and Dwemer Button Pedestal (each press turns it on or off and lights its ring).
    • Tuning forks: right click a pipe end or a pedestal, then a door: the door opens when that source is on, with nothing touching it (Shift + click adds more sources; all must be on). Ctrl + right click locks a door. The Dwemer Tuning Fork only works on what you placed yourself, so you can wire your house in survival without touching anyone else's doors or Markarth's; the Dwemer Master Tuning Fork (creative tab only, for map makers and server admins) works on anything.
    • Keys: a locked Dwemer door can't be mined or blown up in survival: only its valve, button, redstone or key opens it. For now the only key is the Abandoned House Key, for the cellar of the Abandoned House.
    • Fire and light: Markarth Stone Brazier, Markarth Small Brazier, Dwemer Brazier, Dwemer Brazier Dish (3x3), Markarth Sconce, Markarth Hanging Sconce and the Markarth Sconce Rod.
  • Calcelmo, the Dwemer scholar in Understone Keep, sells the Dwemer blocks and machines, the Dwemer Tuning Fork and the Tome: Sanctum Door (5000 septims), and buys your things too.
  • Markarth's stables: Cedran sells a Bill of Sale: Horse (1000 septims) and a Bill of Sale: Wolf (300). Use it and your animal comes to you: the horse grown, tamed, saddled and good (health 26, speed 0.29, jump 0.85), the wolf grown and tamed.
  • Barter: how many. Shift + left click an item (buying or selling) opens a box: drag the bar or type the number, it shows the total price. Click buys or sells one, Shift + right click all of it.
  • Powers anyone can learn: a Powers page in the Magic menu (the vampire's page is now Vampire Powers). A click puts a power on the power key.
  • Sanctum Door (learned from the Tome: Sanctum Door): summons a door in front of you; use the power again and it goes away. Only you go through it: it remembers where it stood, vanishes behind you and takes you to your own Sanctum, 256 x 256 blocks that are only yours, from y 0 to 319: an indestructible bottom at y 0, a stone floor at y 64 you can break and change, the door against the wall in a corner with a ladder down to the bottom and a ladder up to the top beside it, always noon, no mobs, barrier walls and ceiling. Every player's place is 2048 blocks of void from the next. The door inside takes you back to where you summoned it.
  • Stagecoach (optional, by Feelix): with it installed, fares are paid in septims from your purse (up to 1000 blocks 100, up to 3000 blocks 250, farther 500), and the cart by Markarth's stables is a dark oak stagecoach named Markarth that every player already knows, so any stagecoach anywhere can go straight to Markarth. Stagecoaches are used with E.
  • Mebahel's RPG quest board: Markarth's quest board stands by the Silver-Blood Inn's door; when the quest mod counts Markarth as a village (rpginventory:markarth in its quest board structures), that is the city's board. Quest boards are used with E.
  • Keyring: keys don't take inventory space. A key goes to your keyring (the inventory's new Keys category), can't be dropped or lost on death, and a locked door that takes it opens with E while it is on your keyring.
  • The Chalice of Blood has no recipe anymore: it is only in the creative tab. You become a vampire by serving Molag Bal in the House of Horrors and choosing to drink from the blood fountain in his altar's dialogue.
  • Mouse buttons and hands: by default the left button is the main hand and the right button the off hand, like Skyrim's default and a sword and a shield in vanilla: equipping items and spells (inventory, favorites, Magic menu, the Lord's spells), casting the spells in your hands and the Vampire Lord's claws. The client config leftButtonMainHand = false inverts it (right button the right hand, left button the left hand), as it was before. Attacking with a weapon doesn't change.
  • Necromancy replaces the Shadow Army (Conjuration 75 and 100): it gives Raise Dead for the human hands, to any player, vampire or not (Magic menu, like the vampire's human-form spells). A recent corpse where you look rises as your thrall, in its own form, for 5 minutes or until it dies (1 at a time, 3 with Necromancy II). The Vampire Lord still has Raise Dead in the form without the perk. Who had the Shadow Army keeps the perk, now as Necromancy.
