Curse Maven Snippet
Made some minor changes for the mod that bugged me for a while, hopefully this makes the tools feel a lot more balanced but also serve to improve the overall quality of the mod.
Changes:
- Lowered the Enchant-ability of all the tools from 16 to 8 (Diamond is 10):
This is was done so the tools felt a lot less overpowered due to being generally better than diamond. This makes diamond more relevant with the mod. (If you don't know what Enchant-ability is, it is a value within MCreator which determines how difficult it is to get certain enchantments. So getting Efficiency IV, for example, is harder to get and putting enchanted books on the tools will be more expensive. I hope that helps!)
- Changed the recipe of the tools to no longer involve Diamond tools:
This change was made because I felt it made the process of making the tools unnecessarily tedious.
- Improved upon the textures of the tools:
I feel they were really flat. So I added a better sense of shading on the tools.
I'm not very good at texturing and wanted to stay as close as possible to the original Minecraft aesthetic hence the lack of ANY change in it's style.
But in future I will make them look better and more unique while still staying to the style established by Mojang.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been a bit neglectful of this mod, not really caring much for it but do to recent events I feel more motivated to improve it's quality.
There will be more changes in future, including:
- A new block necessary to craft the tools (Similar to that of an anvil?)
- A set of Emerald Armour to accompany the Emerald Tools to make the mod feel a lot bigger
- A new gem that can improve the tools and armour, which would be in the center of each armour piece and tool? This idea is still being built upon but I'll come out with more information on that soon.
- Make the textures even better. I want them to stand out and in order to do that I need to get better at texturing, so this will probably take the longest, lol.
If you do have a suggestion for the mod that you think would improve it please comment on the mod, it will help immensely! But over then that I'm getting a hang of modding and starting to feel a lot better with MCreator as a modding tool so I should be able to put out more updates for this mod!
