Ember and Icicle is an Action-RPG expansion focused on high-quality boss encounters, unique animations, and a challenging atmosphere. This project is a labor of love by an artist.

I am focusing heavily on the story and the "soul" of these creatures and characters. If you are a fan of bosses with personality, fluid animations, and deep conceptual art, you are in the right place.

(This mod is in Beta 2.0)

• Soulslike Combat: Bosses feature visual telegraphs, i-frames, and dynamic multiplayer scaling.

• Gem Socketing System: Embed gems into your equipment for stat boosts.

• Expanded Arsenal: Wield powerful new weapons, Elemental Items, and unique Relics.

• Original Soundtrack: All boss fights and dungeons feature high-quality, immersive music.

Overworld Content: In this Beta version, the Fire and Ice dimensions are not yet available. All current content generates in the Overworld.

The Emberbound Cathedral: In future updates, it will serve as the gateway to the Fire Dimension.

THE BOSS: Fire Gargoyle

A magma-born monstrosity that guards the heights.

• Aerial Combat: The Gargoyle alternates between flight patterns and ground phases.

• Visual Telegraphs: Pay close attention to particles! The boss features "telegraphed" attacks; when you see the Red Flash, dodge or block immediately!

• Magma Beam: Its ultimate attack is a devastating laser.

•  

  • Multiplayer Scaling: Health increases by 40% per additional player nearby.

  • Passive Defenses: * Anti-One-Shot: Damage taken is capped at 10% of its max health per hit.

    • Fiery Thorns: 30% chance to reflect damage if the attacker is on fire.

  • Combat Mechanics:

    • Smart Targeting: The Gargoyle dynamically switches to the closest or weakest player.

    • Ultimate Charge: Gains energy over time; charges faster when players are taking burn damage.

  • (100% - 50% HP): Uses basic Fireballs, Triple Bursts, and high-speed Dashes. Watch out for its Vortex—it will suck you in before a massive explosion.

  • (<50% HP): Becomes more aggressive.

    • Magma Shield: Absorbs damage. If broken, it explodes—stay back!

    • Dive Bomb: Slams the ground like a meteor for massive AoE damage.

    • Environmental Hazards: Invokes Tornados and Meteor Rains.

  • ULTIMATE: Magma Beam: When fully charged, it fires a massive laser (64 blocks long).

  

   

Other mobs:
Ember Effigy: A living tank. It can block your attacks and reflect your own projectiles. Each time she blocks, she does more damage, so be careful. 

Flame Imp: Agile and erratic. Its goal is to harass you and burn your surroundings.

Iron Roller: A rhythmic trap. Every few seconds, it releases a seismic shockwave. Learn the pattern: jump to dodge the wave!

Cryos Technomantic Vault: In future updates, it will serve as the gateway to the Ice Dimension.

To solve the puzzle, you need to find these papers on the ground near the area where the entrance hatch is located.

When you break them, they will yield some adventurer's notes and poems known as "Poetic Steles"; these four items will provide the information needed to solve the puzzle. Be careful, though—if you make a mistake, you'll likely end up frozen.

THE BOSS: Ice Sentinel

A relentless mechanical guardian of the Cryos Vault.

•  

  • Multiplayer Scaling: Health increases by 40% per additional player nearby.
  • Passive Defenses: * Anti-One-Shot: Damage taken is capped at 10% of its max health per hit.

  • Shield Breaker: Almost all of its heavy attacks and stomps will instantly disable your shield.

  • The Cryo Shield Mechanic: Its attacks apply a freezing Cryo effect. If the Sentinel hits you while you are afflicted, it absorbs that energy to generate a powerful Ice Shield for itself.

  • Combat Mechanics:

    • Dynamic Moveset: Up close, it unleashes heavy melee combos and hammer slams. If you run away, it will leap across the arena, throw spike bombs, or fire homing missiles.

    • Shockwaves: Its heavy jump-stomp creates an expanding ice wave across the ground.

    • Ice Beam: It locks onto a target and fires a massive, sweeping laser that freezes anything in its path.

  • ULTIMATE - Absolute Blizzard: It gains energy over time during the fight. When fully charged, it blinds everyone in the arena, violently sucks players toward the center, and releases a devastating AoE explosion.

   

Other mobs:
Cryo Aerial Watcher: A flying support drone. It scans the area, alerts other enemies.


Cryos Automaton: A fast and aggressive automaton. It will sprint towards you for melee attacks and enter an "enraged" state when its health drops below 30%.


Cryos Executioner: A relentless tank armed with an ice sword. if it hits you while you are afflicted with the Cryo effect, it will shatter the ice, dealing massive damage based on your armor.

This mod adds the Wanderer's Armor and the Wanderer's Edge. Currently, these are only available in the Creative Menu. In future Beta versions, they will be obtainable through a specific NPC.
