Elytra flight in vanilla looks the same whether you’re drifting or rocketing at full speed. Elytra Wind adds visible effects that show how fast you’re going.
What it does
- Wind trails: a smooth, continuous white trail streams off each wingtip when you boost with fireworks or glide fast. The trails fade in as you speed up and fade out as you slow down.
- Trails follow the wings: the trails stay attached to the wingtips as your wings spread and fold.
- Wing ruffle: when you put on an elytra, the wings flutter for a moment and then settle. You can see it in F5, in your inventory preview and on other players.
- First-person streaks: your wingtips aren’t on screen in first person, so wind streaks rush past the sides of your screen when you’re moving fast.
- Other players: players around you get trails too.
What it fixes
- Elytra flight feeling flat, with no sense of speed
- Not being able to tell at a glance when someone is boosting
- Elytra snapping onto your back with no animation
