Elemental Forging: Reactions Mod Introduction

Welcome to Elemental Forging: Reactions! This Minecraft mod adds a brand-new elemental attribute system, elemental reaction mechanics, exclusive enchantments, and stunning visual effects to vanilla survival and combat gameplay.

The following content applies to version V1.6.0. The elemental reaction of the Frost attribute and its integration with Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks will be updated in version V1.7.0.

The mod adds 12 exclusive enchantments for weapons and armor (3 per element):

Weapon Enchantments (Attack)

  • Fire Aspect / Nature Aspect / Frost Aspect / Thunder Aspect: Imbues weapons with the corresponding element, dealing additional elemental damage to enemies.
    • Only applicable to swords, axes, tridents, bows, and crossbows.
    • Mutually exclusive with Fire Aspect, Flame, and Channeling.
    • Different element attack enchantments are mutually exclusive.

Armor Enchantments (Enhancement + Resistance)

  • Fire Enhancement / Nature Enhancement / Frost Enhancement / Thunder Enhancement: Increases damage bonus for the corresponding element attack (fixed percentage per level).
  • Fire Resistance / Nature Resistance / Frost Resistance / Thunder Resistance: Reduces damage taken from the corresponding element attacks.
    • Only applicable to armor (helmets, chestplates, leggings, boots).
    • Enhancement and Resistance enchantments of the same element can coexist.
    • Different element enhancement enchantments are mutually exclusive, same for resistance.
    • Maximum enchantment level is dynamically calculated from config (max stat cap / points per level).

All enchantments can be obtained through enchanting tables, villager trades, loot chests, or bound via commands.

Elements have restraint relationships (customizable in config):

The mod adds 6 new status effects:

Basic Effects

Effect Description
Wetness Triggers elemental reactions when hit by elemental attacks. Decays slowly away from water, maintained/increased in rain or water. Increases hunger exhaustion.
Flammable Spores Parasitic spores that deal periodic poison damage and corrode equipment durability. 5+ stacks corrode ALL equipment; below 5 stacks corrode random slots. Fire and Static Shock detonate them; Frostbite suppresses and clears them.
Static Shock Periodic random lightning damage that can chain to nearby entities. Wet targets trigger Paralysis. At high stacks, forms a Static Aura that damages nearby entities and can detonate Spores and Creepers.
Paralysis AI disabled, completely immobilized. Unable to attack, use items, or switch equipment. In water, sinks and drowns.

Frost Effects (V1.7.0)

Effect Description
Frostbite Slowing effect that increases with stacks. Deals periodic ice damage (higher against Fire entities). Movement and attack speed reduced. Contact with Wetness triggers Freeze. Can be cleared by heat sources, fire, or Nether dimension.
Freeze Completely frozen - AI disabled, cannot move or attack. Immune to physical damage but takes increased elemental damage. Periodic ice damage continues. In water, sinks and drowns. Fire attacks immediately break Freeze and convert to Wetness.

Scorched Effect

Effect Description
Scorched High-intensity continuous fire damage. Immune to normal fire damage. Contact with water triggers "Thermal Shock" - instant settlement of remaining damage. Duration modified by target's element type. Poison enhances duration and damage.

Duration, damage, and other parameters are all adjustable in config files.

  1. Info Viewing: Equip elemental weapons to view attack attribute, enhancement/resistance values in Jade (or TOP) panel; item tooltip shows element prefix and values.

  2. Elemental Restraint: Prioritize using elements that restrain enemies for increased damage output.

  3. Wetness Double-Edge: Triggers elemental reactions, but vulnerable to Fire evaporation or conversion to Paralysis/Freeze.

  4. Spore Parasitism: Fears fire but boosts physical defense. Watch positioning to avoid fire attacks. High spore stacks will spread.

  5. Paralysis Lethal: Avoid consecutive Thunder attacks to prevent being immobilized.

  6. Frostbite Slow: Frost attacks gradually slow you. Wetness makes Freeze easier. Stay near heat sources to clear Frostbite.

  7. Freeze Physical Immunity: Freeze state blocks physical damage, but elemental damage hurts more.

  8. Steam Blindness: Steam clouds cause blindness. Be cautious fighting in steam.

  9. Aura Evasion: When enemies have Scorched/Static/Frostbite effects, maintain distance to avoid aura damage.

  10. Debug Mode: Use /elementalcraft debug command to display detailed combat settlement info.

  11. Dimension Traits: Nether mobs default Fire attribute, End mobs default Thunder attribute (can be disabled in config).
