Description

Electrifying Tweaks

Electrifying Tweaks is a Create addon that builds on Power Grid. It's for wiring real buildings: protection gear that trips the way real breakers do, breaker panels that feed a whole house through hidden wiring, and a large set of period light fixtures that use Power Grid's own bulbs.

Protection and Supply

- Circuit Breaker: cuts the circuit when the current goes too high. It trips inside the electrical solver, so even an instant spike never reaches the devices downstream. It also has a real time-current curve, so motor inrush passes but a sustained overload trips. It can reset itself automatically if you want.
- Overvoltage Relay: watches the voltage on its input and opens the circuit when it climbs past the limit you set.
- Auto Transformer: a variac that turns its own tap to hold the output voltage you ask for (4 to 600 V) as the supply rises and falls.
- Line Conditioner: sits between the supply and a jumpy load like a strobe. The grid only sees a smooth, averaged draw.
- Service Transformer: steps 2000–2800 V down for an Industrial Breaker Panel. A comparator reads 15 when it's overloaded, and it explodes if you overvolt it.
- Heavy Gold Wire: for high-current runs.

Building Wiring

Wiring a house one cord at a time gets messy fast. The Residential Breaker Panel splits a building's supply into eight circuits, each with its own breaker. The Industrial Breaker Panel gives you sixteen circuits per section on 120, 240 or 500 V, and sections placed side by side join into one panel.

Link sockets, lights and appliances to a circuit with Wire Cutters, and power reaches them through hidden wiring: no cords on the walls, but real conductors in Power Grid's simulation, so meters and breakers see every load.

Lighting

More than thirty fixtures, all taking Power Grid's own bulbs, and all able to run off a power cord or the hidden house wiring:

- Street lamps: Acorn, Round and Art Deco globes on one, two, three or five arms, on plain iron, ornate or stepped Art Deco bases. One bulb lights every globe.
- Ceiling lights: pendants, a brass chandelier, semi-flush domes, flush mounts, framed flush mounts, Art Deco globes, industrial shades, deco panels and two-block tube fixtures.
- Wall lights: shield sconces, globe sconces, column sconces, industrial sconces, and rectangular lanterns in cast iron and aged brass.
- Post lights, and a terminal-free Brass Light Fixture.

A few touches along the way:
- Wax a bulb with a honeycomb and it glows a warm Edison amber.
- Place a fixture with a bulb in your off hand, and the bulb goes straight in.

Machines

- Electric Furnace: smelts with electricity instead of fuel, using a Resistive Coil as its heating element.
- Coin Minter (with Create: Numismatics): stamps diamonds into Sprockets. It runs on rotation, drawing 20,000 SU at 256 RPM.
- Powered Depositor (with Create: Numismatics): a Brass Depositor that machines can pay into. Hoppers and chutes are refused until a redstone signal arrives, then it takes exactly its set price.

Fixes

Electrifying Tweaks also fixes several things in the mods it builds on:

- Two Power Grid crashes: a world that crashes on every load after a power cord's network gets out of sync, and a generator winding crash.
- Big builds with hundreds of lights or generators no longer make Power Grid's solver redo its work every tick, which cuts server lag a lot.
- Breaking a Create shop table cloth no longer lets another player take over the shop.

Requirements

- Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge
- Create 6.0+
- Power Grid 0.6.x
- Optional: Create: Numismatics (for the Coin Minter and Powered Depositor) and JEI

Released under the MIT License, so it's free to use in modpacks.
