Electra
Catch lightning. Wire your world. Build the factory yourself.
Electra is a vanilla+ tech mod about real, physical electricity. Copper cables run through your base, storms charge your generators, and every machine works right in front of you - nothing disappears into an abstract network.
Electra doesn't give you a perfect factory. It gives you the tools to build yours.
Why Electra?
- Electricity you can touch. Bare copper wire is dangerous - walk into a live cable and you'll feel it. Insulate it with wool to stay safe.
- Power from the sky. Your first energy source is the storm itself.
- Everything stays visible. Chests stay chests, cables exist in the world, factories are something you can walk through.
- Complexity is optional. Power a single furnace in five minutes, or build a whole industrial network. Your call.
- Modpack-friendly. Uses standard Forge Energy (FE) and works alongside Mekanism, AE2, Thermal and any other FE mod.
Lightning Collector
Place a lightning rod on top, wait for a thunderstorm, and let nature do the work. Every strike stores 5,000 FE. Once charged, a glowing energy core spins inside the copper cage.
Copper Cables
- Bare Wire - cheap, connects to everything… and electrocutes anything that touches it while powered.
- Insulated Wire - wrapped in wool, safe, and available in 16 colours.
Insulated wires only connect to their own colour (or bare wire), so you can run separate networks side by side without them merging.
Advanced Furnace
An electric furnace that smelts anything a furnace, blast furnace or smoker can - and alloys two materials together.
- Rose Gold = Copper + Gold
- Red Iron Alloy = Iron + Redstone
Hoppers welcome: inputs from the top and sides, output from the bottom.
And more
- Redstone Converter - turns a powered network into a redstone signal.
- Energy Meter - look at any FE block, from Electra or any other mod, to read its charge.
- Rose Gold and Red Iron Alloy blocks, tagged for cross-mod recipes.
Beta notice
Electra is in beta (0.1.0). Expect bugs, balance changes, and maybe the occasional world-breaking change between versions. Back up your worlds and please report anything strange!
