What's new
Eclipse Gate 1.4.3
Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4+. Needs DarkmoonLibrary 1.0.0 or newer (see Changes).
Glowing glimmer trees
- Glimmerwood now shines where its light pixels are. The pale cyan specks in Glimmerwood logs, wood and leaves glow at full brightness in the dark, while the rest of the bark and leaves stays dim (the leaves sparkle rather than blaze).
- With shader packs too. The glimmerwood, the new crystal ores and the rune stones now come with shader material maps (LabPBR), so packs that read them make the same pixels glow. In Complementary, set Materials to labPBR in the shader options (the default only lights up vanilla blocks).
New blocks
- Starlight Crystal Ore and Deepslate Starlight Crystal Ore: glittering violet crystals deep in the Hollow's stone (below y 40, in every Hollow region). Mine with an iron pickaxe or better for 1-2 Starlight Shards (Fortune works; Silk Touch gives the ore), or smelt the ore. The crystals glow in the dark. A steady supply of shards for the Star Enchanter.
- Rune-Carved Lunar Stone and Rune-Carved Selenite: polished stone cut with the Order's rune, its groove lit from within. 4 polished lunar stone (or polished selenite) around a Starlight Shard makes 4. They give off a little light.
- Glimmerwood Mosaic: glimmerwood planks laid in a parquet. Two Glimmerwood Slabs, one above the other.
Rune circles
- The Order's rune circles now dot the Moonlit Hollow: a rune-carved standing stone in a clearing, ringed by glowing Lunar Runes cut into the ground, with four more pointing in at the stone. About one in every 28 chunks, in every Hollow region, on fairly flat, dry ground.
- Lunar Rune (new block): a glowing rune flat on the ground, in four glyphs (crescent, star, eye and gate; the glyph is picked by where you place it). Sparks rise when you walk across one, and now and then on their own. Starlight Shard + Glowstone Dust + Polished Lunar Stone makes 6. Glows under shader packs too.
Sophisticated Backpacks (and other bags)
- What's in your backpack now counts as carried. With Sophisticated Backpacks (or any bag that holds items the standard Forge way), a backpack in your inventory counts for:
- the Sigils' powers (carry them in a backpack and they still work),
- the Star Fragment paid at a Waystation Lamp,
- items handed in for bounties and the Wayfinders' tasks (taken from your inventory first, then your backpacks),
- claiming a Sigil you're carrying.
- Worn backpacks count too: a backpack in a Curios slot (with Curios installed) counts as carried, just like one in your inventory.
- Two Moonlit Hollow recipes for backpack upgrades (only with Sophisticated Backpacks installed): a Magnet Upgrade from an Upgrade Base, 3 Lunarite and a Starlight Shard, and a Feeding Upgrade from an Upgrade Base, a Lunar Apple, Glowcap Stew and a Starlight Shard. The mod's own recipes still work.
The Order's library
- The floor now waits for the High Selenarch's cutscene to finish before it rumbles and gives way, so you see both.
- A cutscene for the library: once the floor has fallen in, the camera sweeps around the library and comes to rest on the Star Enchanter (sneak to skip; turn cutscenes off under Visual & Sound Settings). You're shielded and fall gently while it plays.
- Loot: four chests at the foot of the reading stacks, with Starlight Shards, Lunarite, Star Fragments, lapis, experience bottles, books, a Star Chart now and then, enchanted books and the Order's journals.
- A new lore book, The Star-Craft of the Order, written by High Selenarch Maelis, lies open on each of the library's lecterns (and sometimes turns up in its chests).
- Worlds whose library has already opened keep it as it is; the chests and books come with libraries that open from now on.
Star Enchanter
- Two new advancements: Written in the Stars (inscribe an enchantment at the Star Enchanter) and the challenge A Sky Full of Stars (inscribe every one of the twelve stars on its map).
