What's new

[1.1.3] — 2026-08-29

Added

  • Every generated printshop now places a workshop tool crate (barrel) with a Workshop Broom, Printer's Brush, Magnifying Lens, and Printer's Archive. The broom sits on the lid; the lens and brush lie beside it.

Changed

  • Fully cleaning Printing Debris now dismantles the pile: scraps fall out on the first brush stroke, then the rest becomes paper, ink, type, and spare press parts and the block disappears.
  • Every generated printshop now places three almost-full chests — specialist, storage, and hidden — stocked with clean paper, ink, type, and spare press components.
  • Later workshops yield substantially more blank archive paper and ink from the archive desk and ink station.
  • Switched the Fabric mod icon to the illustrated press artwork from the repository icon.png.
  • Hung six distinct workshop posters in every generated printshop — warning, woodcut, chronicle, notice, map, and type-specimen sheets — and added extra work tables with laid papers, notes, and prints.
  • Abandoned printshops generate beside vanilla villages and also at random wilderness sites. Every village gets one outskirts workshop; larger plains, meadow, savanna, and taiga villages also get a second shop on the opposite side. Forests, swamps, and other workshop biomes keep scattered ruins.
  • The printing press now accepts vanilla paper as interchangeable stock with Blank Archive Pages. Restoring a chronicle still requires a Damaged Archive Page.
  • Breaking a printing press returns the press frame to the player's inventory along with the installed parts, instead of dropping the assembled press block.
  • Hung generated posters flush on the intended wall. Facing stays parallel to that wall; placeBlock remapping is inverted so the sheet sits on the wall face instead of one block into the room.
  • Rebuilt echo ghost workers as walking particle silhouettes — compose type, carry a page to the press, hide, then fade — without hitching on sync.
  • Wooden matrices on the press now take ink like metal type: a thick woodcut block with raised black ink pads that fill in as the ball or pad wipes.
  • Hung more mixed posters on every generated printshop wall.

Fixed

  • Made generated Press Frames become functional Printing Presses when the first press component is installed, then accept all remaining components normally.
  • Recovered press parts already laid above a frame by the broken interaction, including installing the next held component in the same click.
  • Restored cosmetic sweeping of stained decorative floorboards with the Workshop Broom without restoring per-floor investigation loot.
  • Allowed the Magnifying Lens and Printer's Brush to receive held-item clicks on the Faded Workshop Plaque instead of being intercepted by its empty-hand hint.
  • Kept the Printer's Brush locked to the originally clicked thin plaque during its timed use, while retaining server-side distance and state validation.
  • Expanded lens inspection to identify laid prints, readable posters, archive pages, matrices/type formes, press components, and other workshop objects; readable finished prints also display their complete text.
  • Opening a printshop barrel now grants the same physical starter kit as a chest, so already-generated empty workshop crates can still supply tools.
