Dynamic Nutrition 1.5.0 [NeoForge] [26.x]
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Minecraft 26.3 support, and every nutrient now carries its own effect.
Minecraft 26.3
One file covers 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3. The keybind resolves N by name at run time, because 26.3 renumbered the key codes and a number compiled against 26.2 asked for the wrong key.
Ten nutrient effects
Above its green line a nutrient gives you something. Below its red line it takes something away.
| Nutrient | Above | Below |
|---|---|---|
| Carbohydrates | Speed | Slowness |
| Protein | Strength | Weakness |
| Fat | Resistance | Hunger |
| Vitamins | Regeneration | Blindness |
| Minerals | Haste | Mining Fatigue |
Each runs at 50% of the vanilla level I strength by default, and each has its own 0 to 100 setting. At 50% Speed is worth 0.1100 movement against vanilla's 0.12, Strength 2.5 attack damage against 4, Regeneration 0.2 health a second against 0.4, and Resistance turns 10 damage into 9.
Milk no longer clears them. The cure for a deficiency is food.
Two icons, not ten
Every buff your diet earns shows as Well Nourished and every debuff as Malnourished, both at once when one nutrient is high and another is low. Hover either one beside your inventory and it lists the effects it stands for, each in its nutrient's colour.
A potion or a beacon giving the same effect keeps its own icon and its own timer, so you never see an effect twice. Either icon can be hidden from the top of the screen, from beside the inventory or from both, and the effects keep working while hidden.
Hearts are gone
Well Nourished and Malnourished no longer change maximum health, movement speed or attack damage. The ten effects above replace all of it, so what your diet is doing to you can be read off the effect list instead of out of a hidden number.
The rest
- Settings are now in four tabs: HUD, Inventory, Variety and Effects. A 1.0.0 config file still loads unchanged
- Hovering a bar on the nutrition screen names the two effects that bar controls, with both of its thresholds
- Effect strengths are set by the server and reach every client, so a change applies within a second and needs no restart
Cloth Config is optional and adds the settings screen, opened from the mods list. Without it the mod runs on its defaults.
