Description
Dynamic Hammer gives Vault Hunters players direct control over the area their hammer breaks.
Video Demonstration
Vault Hunters hammers can reach a large area as hammering jewels are added, but you do not always want to break the entire footprint. Dynamic Hammer lets you configure a smaller rectangular area inside the hammer's available range, while keeping the original Vault Hunters center-point controls.
Features
- Configure hammer width and height independently.
- Choose an area from 3 × 3 up to the hammer's server-approved maximum, with an absolute maximum of 17 × 17.
- Open the configuration screen with a rebindable hotkey, set to F8 by default.
- Keep the existing Vault Hunters Sneak + Arrow Keys controls for moving the strike point.
- Hold Sneak and use the mouse wheel to resize the hammer quickly.
- Keep the strike point inside the selected area when the hammer is resized.
- Preserve edge-relative placement, so a strike point on the left, right, top, or bottom edge stays anchored to that edge when possible.
- Display the full 17 × 17 configuration canvas with uniform cells, a centered footprint, and dimmed unavailable cells.
- Store the configuration on the hammer itself, so it follows the tool through inventories, drops, containers, trades, and transfers between players.
Dedicated server support
Dynamic Hammer supports dedicated servers and must be installed on the server and every connecting client.
The server is authoritative over hammer limits and saved settings. Clients send configuration requests; the server verifies the selected hammer, recalculates the jewel-derived maximum, clamps the requested dimensions and offsets, writes the result to the hammer ItemStack, and synchronizes the updated tool back to the player.
This prevents clients from exceeding the hammer's actual available range and ensures that a configured hammer behaves consistently for whoever holds it.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.18.2
- Forge 40.3.11 or newer within the 1.18.2 line
- Vault Hunters 1.18.2 Update 20+ and Remastered
- Dynamic Hammer on both the dedicated server and clients
Dynamic Hammer is released under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPLv3).
