Durability Overhaul 2.1.0 (Forge 1.20.1, Fabric 1.20.1)
How much material an anvil repair takes is now the pack maker's to set, and other mods get their say at the anvil again. Suggested by HLStudios.
Settings
- New list
repair_amounts: the units of material a full anvil repair takes, per item or per item tag. It is written inconfig/improved_damage_config.propertieson one line, for example[minecraft:diamond_pickaxe=2, #minecraft:swords=1]. An entry for the item itself wins over an entry for a tag the item is in, and of several tags the first one listed wins. The number is exact: after that many units the item is whole again, a broken one included. Items without an entry keep the mod's amounts: 2 for shovels, 3 for swords and hoes, 4 for everything else. - New switch
repair_amounts_enabled, "Repair Material Amounts" in the settings screen. On by default. Turned off, the mod no longer decides how much material a repair takes: the game does (4 units for everything), together with any mod that changes the game's anvil, and the list is not used. Everything else stays as it is: repairs cost no experience, and a broken item works again only once it is repaired all the way. - An entry that cannot be read is named in the log and skipped, and so is an item id or a tag that nothing in the game answers to. The rest of the list still counts.
- A config file from an older version gets the new options written into it the first time the game starts. Its existing values are kept.
Compatibility
- Other mods can decide what an anvil makes again. On Forge the anvil's update event was never reached while this mod was installed, so a mod that adds an anvil recipe, changes a repair or forbids one had no effect. The event is fired again and its answer is used. On Fabric, where mods change the anvil's calculation directly, a mod that replaces the result at the start of it is now asked before this mod instead of by luck of the load order. A level cost such a mod sets is not charged: anvil work stays free with this mod.
- With
repair_amounts_enabledoff, a repair with material runs through the game's own anvil code, so every mod that changes that code takes effect. - An item that another mod repairs completely in an anvil is no longer left broken.
Server-side change: update the server too.
