Description

DroidBridge LAN is an Android compatibility mod that allows the official e4mc mod to work with Minecraft Java Edition running through DroidBridge Launcher.

With DroidBridge LAN and e4mc installed, you can open a single-player world to LAN and share the public e4mc address with other Java Edition players — even when they are on a completely different network.

No router configuration or manual port forwarding is required.

Features

  • Enables e4mc multiplayer hosting on Android through DroidBridge
  • Uses the official e4mc mod as a required dependency
  • Host Minecraft Java worlds directly from an Android device
  • Friends connect using normal Minecraft Java Direct Connect
  • No manual router configuration or port forwarding
  • Native Android/ARM64 Netty-Quiche compatibility
  • Handles Android-specific native library loading
  • Prevents unsupported e4mc networking paths from causing Android crashes
  • Automatically recovers damaged e4mc configuration files after interrupted shutdowns or device restarts
  • Does not bundle or modify the e4mc mod

How to use

Install the following into your Fabric instance:

  • DroidBridge LAN
  • e4mc
  • Fabric API

Launch Minecraft through DroidBridge Launcher and open a single-player world.

Select:

Open to LAN

e4mc will establish the public connection and display an address in Minecraft chat.

Send that address to the other player.

They can join using:

Multiplayer → Direct Connection

The other player does not need DroidBridge LAN and does not need to be on the same network as the host.

They only need a compatible Minecraft Java Edition client.

Requirements

Currently supported:

Minecraft Java Edition 26.1.x
Fabric Loader
Fabric API
e4mc 6.2.1+modern or compatible release
DroidBridge Launcher
Android ARM64

Support for additional Minecraft versions is planned.

Why is this mod needed?

e4mc is designed primarily for standard desktop Java environments.

Minecraft Java running through DroidBridge uses Android's ARM64 native environment, which has different native library and runtime requirements.

DroidBridge LAN provides the compatibility layer needed for e4mc's networking stack to operate correctly in that environment.

The official e4mc mod remains installed separately and is not modified by DroidBridge LAN.

About e4mc

e4mc is an independent open-source project that provides the public networking functionality used when a Minecraft world is opened to LAN.

DroidBridge LAN requires the official e4mc mod.

Upstream e4mc project:

https://github.com/vgskye/e4mc-minecraft-architectury

e4mc is developed and maintained by its respective developers.

DroidBridge LAN is an independent compatibility project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the e4mc developers.

Please support and credit the original e4mc project for the public tunneling service and Minecraft integration it provides.

Source code

DroidBridge LAN is open source.

The source repository includes:

  • DroidBridge LAN mod source
  • Android compatibility implementation
  • Fabric configuration
  • Android Netty/Quiche integration
  • Native build information
  • Build scripts and reproducible project configuration
  • Third-party license notices

The e4mc source code is not included or redistributed as part of DroidBridge LAN.

Issues

If the problem occurs specifically while using e4mc through DroidBridge on Android, please report it to the DroidBridge LAN project first rather than the upstream e4mc project.

This helps keep Android/DroidBridge-specific compatibility issues separate from problems affecting e4mc on normal desktop Java installations.

When reporting an issue, please include:

  • Minecraft version
  • DroidBridge Launcher version
  • DroidBridge LAN version
  • e4mc version
  • Fabric Loader version
  • Device model
  • Android version
  • latest.log

If the issue can also be reproduced with e4mc on a normal desktop Java installation without DroidBridge LAN, it may instead be an upstream e4mc issue.

License

DroidBridge LAN is released under the MIT License.

DroidBridge LAN is a separate project from e4mc.

e4mc and all other third-party software remain under their respective licenses. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md in the DroidBridge LAN source repository for attribution and licensing information.
