Dreamcraft Computers (0.2.0 - power, networking, more apps)
Build a working computer in Minecraft. Place a Computer Case, install parts by right-clicking the case, put a Monitor and a Keyboard next to it, install Dream OS, then right-click the case to use it.
What is in 0.2.0
- Computer Case, 3 monitors (CRT, Flat, Ultrawide), 2 keyboards (Basic, RGB)
- Parts: Basic / Gaming motherboards (2 or 4 RAM slots), Basic / Fast CPUs, 4 / 8 / 16 GB RAM, 128 GB / 512 GB / 1 TB SSDs, Network Card (decoration for now)
- Dream OS Installer, Flash Drive
- Dream OS desktop with a boot animation, taskbar, and 7 apps (Files, Notes, Browser, 3D Modeler, Chat, Calc, Settings):
- Files: disk usage, open, delete, copy to and from a USB flash drive
- Notes: text editor that saves to the computer disk
- Browser: local pages (dream://home, files, drive, system, notes/<file>)
- 3D Modeler: paint voxel prints in 8x8x8 (8 GB RAM) or 16x16x16 (16 GB RAM), save as .dcprint or export to a flash drive
- RAM decides how many apps run at once (4 GB = 1 app). The SSD decides how much you can store.
- Shift + right-click the case with an empty hand: eject the flash drive, then remove parts, last installed first.
New in 0.2.0
- Power Supply part: with one installed the case needs FE (8000 buffer, 4 FE/tick while running, no extraction). Works with Dreamcraft Electricity or any NeoForge FE source. Without a PSU the computer runs free.
- Router block: computers with a Network Card within 12 blocks of a router form a LAN. Chat app, and Browser pages dream://net and dream://net/<pc>/<file> for files named pub-*. Chat history is in memory only.
- Settings: rename the PC. Calc app.
Not done yet (coming in later updates)
- RGB lights, desks, chairs, switches and wires
- Printing your modeler files in Dreamcraft 3D Printers (needs a 3D Printers update)
- Tested on a server only so far: client GUI, models and multiplayer are untested
Install
- Servers: only dreamcraftcomputers.jar.
- Clients: dreamcraftcomputers.jar plus the Dreamcraft Networks Announcements API 1.1.6 (clients only, in the clients-only folder of the install pack).
