# Downfall 1.1.3

Fabric · Minecraft 26.3 · requires Fabric API

This is the big one: everything since the original five weapons. There were 5, and now there are **16**.

## Shooting Star is now Downfall

- The mod has a new name and its own identity. The remote is now the **Uplink**, and every weapon has a DF code.
- The five original weapons are back under new names:
  - **DF-01 Coring Beam** (was Railgun)
  - **DF-02 Undertow** (was Event Horizon)
  - **DF-03 Javelin** (was Gungnir)
  - **DF-04 Rain of Suns** (was Seven Stars)
  - **DF-05 Sun Ray**
- The mod id changed, so remove the old Shooting Star jar. Its items and blocks don't carry over into existing worlds.

## 11 new weapons

Every weapon has its own cutscene, its own impact frames, an original sound set, and its own aftermath blocks. Keys can be rebound, and the size can be changed in the Uplink menu.

**DF-06 · Neutron Pulse** · key **B** · radius 120
A lattice station in high orbit lets go of a pea of neutron matter. It hangs forty blocks up in total silence while the land is pulled in toward it and everything loose streams up into it. Then it touches down, the picture freezes, and a pressure wave races out. The middle is crushed to collapsed matter, the land is left ringed with terraces, and the forests beyond are laid flat. Nothing burns.
*New blocks:* Collapsed Matter, Compressed Stone, Pressure-Fractured Rock

**DF-07 · Atlas Collapse** · key **G** · radius 140
A gravity satellite locks on, and the land lifts into the sky in giant plates, each a chunk across and forty blocks deep, with everything on them. They climb over two hundred blocks, hang there turning slowly, then come down like a meteor shower, burning on the way. Each lands lower than it stood, so the land is left a field of broken steps and cliffs under rubble.
*New blocks:* Shear-Polished Stone, Fractured Bedrock, Rubble

**DF-08 · Moonfall** · key **M** · radius 160
The Moon is pulled out of its orbit and dropped on your crosshair. It leaves a basin with a raised rim and a huge chunk of the Moon standing in the middle. The hills beyond are shaved down toward it, the forests are flattened out to three radii, and smaller fragments rain down all round for a dozen seconds.
*New blocks:* Lunar Rock, Molten Lunar Rock, Starmetal Veins (they drop Starmetal Shards), Meteorite Rock, Molten Impact Stone, Cooling Impact Stone, Impact Stone, Fused Crater Glass, Lunar Regolith

**DF-09 · Absolute Zero** · key **L** · radius 110
A cryo engine in Neptune's shadow fires a stream of condensate down onto the zone. Water sets to ice, lava quenches to stone, frost covers everything, and everyone in it is frozen stiff. The picture holds on four seconds of a frozen world, then the middle shatters outward into a crater of ice with crystals growing in it. The frost keeps creeping outward for a while.
*New blocks:* Crystalline Ice, Cryo Crystals and Cryo Crystal Buds, Rime Stone, Frozen Ground, Quenched Stone, Frost

**DF-10 · Helios Array** · key **V** · radius 120
The Helios mirrors at the Sun gather its light onto your crosshair. Instead of ending the world, the focus walks a spiral out across the zone for twenty seconds, glassing everything it passes. Water boils off and forests go up. It leaves a spiral of cooling slag, bleached stone and spires of glass where the focus lingered.
*New blocks:* Solar Slag, Sunscorched Stone, Glass Spires

**DF-11 · Thunderhead** · key **O** · radius 110
A seeding satellite builds a real thunderstorm over the zone. For twenty-five seconds over a hundred lightning bolts walk across it. Every bolt leaves a crater, a fulgurite fused down into the ground and fire. The last bolt bores a shaft straight down to the bedrock.
*New blocks:* Fulgurite, Charged Stone (it sparks and zaps whatever walks on it)

**DF-12 · Vulcan** · key **P** · radius 90
A penetrator rod drops from orbit and bores down to the deep rock, and the mantle comes up after it. For a minute a volcano builds itself out of what it throws up. Lava runs down its flanks, molten bombs set fires out to three radii and ash falls over everything. When the vent dies, the lava sets in columns, and the land is left higher than it was.
*New blocks:* Basalt Columns, Volcanic Glass, Pumice, Tephra

**DF-13 · Guillotine** · key **Z** · radius 120
No machine, no trip to space. A blade of cyan light sweeps a full circle across the land, the cut holds, the blade screams, and then an explosion races round the circle after it. Everything above the cut blows apart and rains down over the country, and the blast flattens the forests out to twice the radius.
*New blocks:* Shear-Polished Stone, Rubble

**DF-15 · The Pale Choir** · key **R** · radius 180
Twelve enormous tuning forks hang in a ring above the Earth. They are struck one after another until their notes slide into one. For fourteen seconds the land shakes itself apart: hills crumble and sink, buildings fracture into rubble, caves collapse and sinkholes swallow the ground. The final note pulverises the middle into powder, and then there is dead silence. Nothing burns and nothing explodes. Its sound is an original piece composed in Sour Loops.
*New blocks:* Powdered Shale, Hollowstone, Resonant Stone (it hums and sounds the note again when stepped on), Acoustic Glass

**DF-19 · The Last Hour** · key **X** · radius 360
A chronosphere sets three clockwork rings over the target, and days and nights race by until the sky blurs into one long exposure. Millions of years pass in fourteen seconds. Trees crumble and turn to stone, wood rots, copper turns green, iron rusts, rivers dry up and the hills wear down to dust. Then time stops, and everything the years weakened collapses at once. Its sound is an original piece composed in Sour Loops with real clock, bell and music-box recordings.
*New blocks:* Ancient Dust, Fossilstone, Crumbling Stone, Petrified Wood, Chronoglass

**DF-20 · Ramiel** · key **;** · radius 96 (32 to 256)
The Fifth Angel of Evangelion.
- **The angel arrives.** A deep-blue crystal octahedron comes down and hangs over the land, mirroring the sky.
- **It transforms.** It changes shape the way the angel attacks in the film, shot for shot: a tip folds in, spikes snap out, and it becomes a five-armed star with a white pentagram at its core.
- **It charges.** As it charges it slowly turns purple and pink. At night its glow lights up the sky and the land round it.
- **It fires.** The beam hits exactly where you aimed, and the force of the shot sends a shockwave over the land under the angel that flattens forests and tears down buildings.
- **The aftermath.** The cut follows the beam's path and angle, opening a hillside or a mountain like a wound, and the fireball rolls on over the land the way the beam was going.
- **Its sound** is its own, made in Sour Loops.

*New blocks:* Seared Rock, Molten Seared Rock, Cooling Seared Rock, Beam Glass

## Every design remade to look real

- **Machines:** every machine in the cutscenes was rebuilt as a detailed 3D model, with realistic materials (painted metal, bare steel, foil, glass and mirrors) and moving parts. That covers the Coring Beam's copper derrick and braided beam, Undertow's ring of mirrors at the Sun, Javelin's sling station and finned needle, Rain of Suns' stellar nursery, the Helios mirrors, and every new weapon's machine.
- **Metal:** bare metal now shows its real colour and reflections instead of rendering black.

## What every new weapon brings

- **Impact frames:** each weapon has its own palette and style, from freeze frames and a pinched or bulging lens to streaks, sepia and colour-negative flashes.
- **Original sound:** a full sound set made for each weapon, with none of the game's own recordings.
- **Aftermath blocks:** each weapon's blocks are laid out by how its impact worked. All of them can be mined, carried and placed, with their own textures and sounds, and many behave on their own: molten rock that cools, stone that sparks, frost that spreads, crystals that grow and dust that slides.

## Other changes

- The Uplink menu now fits all sixteen weapons.
- During a cutscene you're sent the land round the strike, so even huge zones show whole.
- Cutscenes run on real time and stay in step with their sound even when the game stutters or lags.
- Villages stay consistent when a strike moves their beds, bells and workstations.
