☣ The world is no longer clean. ☣
A bite from a wolf with red eyes. A villager who won't stop coughing. A dark puddle left behind by someone who was sick. In Diseases: A Crude World (in-game: Contagion: Biohazard Survival) every one of them can kill you — slowly, in stages, and you won't always know it's coming.
12 diseases · 29 symptoms · infected creatures · outbreaks · vaccines · hazmat suits · a full medical system

Each disease has its own carriers, its own way of spreading, its own stages and timings, and its own list of treatments that work — or don't — depending on how far it has gone. Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. Tuberculosis can lie dormant and come back. Ebola leaves contaminated fluids wherever the patient goes. Cholera hides in the river you drink from.

- ☣ Exposure — a bite, contaminated fluids, a cough in your face, sick livestock, bad food or a dirty wound.
- ☣ Silent incubation — nothing tells you. A bite warns you; an airborne cough you breathed in does not.
- ☣ Symptoms — fever, coughing fits, vomiting, blurred vision, hydrophobia, paralysis, confusion... You know you are sick, but not with what.
- ☣ Crisis — the critical stage. At its end you either recover or die. Death is always announced, never random, with custom death messages ("Steve died of rabies").
- ☣ Recovery — many diseases leave you immune for a while (or for life).

Symptoms are not potion effects. Each one combines its own penalties (movement, mining, healing, hunger, swallowing), behaviour (coughing fits that spread the disease, vomiting that empties your food bar, stumbling, panic in water) plus private screen effects and sounds — all scaled by the intensity of the current stage.

Rabid wolves and foxes with glowing red eyes and mangy fur, plague-carrying rabbits and silverfish, bats from jungles and deep caves, sick cows, chickens and fish, and villagers coughing in the middle of town. Outbreaks can turn a whole area into a hot zone for a while.

- Diagnostic Scanner — detects pathogens in animals and villagers (even silent ones), checks players for fever and identifies contaminated puddles.
- Blood Test Kit — full diagnosis: the disease, its stage and how long until it changes.
- Syringe & pathogen samples — draw samples from carriers and craft them into vaccines (rabies, Ebola, tuberculosis, measles, smallpox, cholera, anthrax, tetanus, influenza). Vaccinate yourself, other players and even your dogs and livestock.
- Experimental Antiviral Serum, Antibiotic Courses (several doses on schedule — skip one and it may come back), Rehydration Salts, Fever Reducer and Supportive Care Kits.
- Every treatment works depending on the disease and the stage: your medical record always tells you what can still help.

Press H (or the ☣ tab above your inventory) to open your Medical Record: current stage, timeline, active symptoms, treatment options, vaccinations, immunities and active outbreaks. A compact status HUD keeps you informed while you play.

Surgical Mask (-60% airborne infection, and it protects others when you are the one coughing) and a full Hazmat set — hood, suit, trousers and boots — each blocking specific routes: air, fluids, bites and contact. Keep a Disinfectant Spray close to anyone with a haemorrhagic fever.

Every new player receives the Biohazard Field Manual: a real book with a cover, a clickable index and a chapter for every disease — danger level, carriers, stages and timings, symptoms by stage and treatments. It is generated from the mod's data, so it is always accurate, even with your own tweaks.

- /disease list · status · give · cure · vaccine · clear · diagnose · infect · outbreak (start, stop, list) — with autocompletion.
- Difficulty presets: Casual, Normal and Hardcore, plus multipliers for infection chance, duration and severity.
- Toggle each transmission route (bites, fluids, airborne, food, animal contact, player-to-player), disable individual diseases, tune outbreaks and carrier spawns.
- What happens on death: cure everything (default), keep only silent infections, or keep it all. A Totem of Undying can save you from a disease.
- Client options for screen effects, camera effects, vignette, ambient sounds and HUD position. Disease numbers live in datapack JSON files.
- Fully translated into English and Spanish.

- Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.234 or newer.
- Required on both client and server. No other dependencies.
- Works in singleplayer and multiplayer — diseases spread between players, too.
☣ All diseases in this mod are fictionalised versions made for gameplay. Nothing here is medical information. ☣
