Diorite Isn't Useless

What's new

The abandoned diorite mine

A one-floor maze buried somewhere between Y 0 and 40, different in every world. Broken rails, old beams, dead ends, and signs that someone left for you. There's a chest somewhere in it. Bring torches.

Mines are rare, and they only appear in newly generated chunks. In an old world, travel to unexplored land.

The Miner's new routine

• He comes in the morning. Do his job, sleep in a bed under the open sky, and he'll be there when you wake up. If the job isn't done, or you sleep in a cave, he won't come.
• Jobs come on paper. Right-click it to see your progress and the pay. When he pays you, he takes the old paper back and gives you the next one.
• His instructions book is the only book you'll get from him.

Changes

• The note in the top-left corner is gone. The job paper replaces it.
• The Miner no longer comes on a timer.

Good to know

• Worlds from 0.2 carry over. Your current job stays, and you'll get its paper on his next visit.
• Still Minecraft 1.20.1 (Fabric). The 1.21.1 port is planned for beta 4.

Abuse mode is still on by default. There are no flashing lights. But there may be moments that make you jump.
