DinoLevelMob

Unlisted
Gives hostile mobs and bosses levels, stat scaling, and an XP-based level-up system with tier-colored name tags.

DinoLevelMob

Turn every hostile mob into a leveled threat. Hostile mobs now spawn with a level, display a colored `[Lv.X]` name tag, and get stronger with every level they earn. Peaceful mobs (cows, pigs, Alex's Mobs creatures...) are never affected.

How it works

- Levels on spawn— Every hostile mob spawns with a random level between 1 and 100. Bosses (mobs with high base health, e.g. Cataclysm, BossesRise) spawn much higher, between level 80 and 120.
- Tier-colored name tags — The `[Lv.X]` tag is colored by danger tier. Low levels start white, and colors ramp up through green, blue, purple, orange and red the more dangerous the mob is. 10 color tiers are configurable.
- Stats scale with level — Health, attack damage and armor are multiplied by the level: `final = base × level × multiplier`. A level 50 zombie is 50× tougher. Each multiplier can be set to 0 to keep that stat unchanged.
- Real level-ups — When a hostile mob kills a player it gains EXP (20 per kill by default). It only levels up after it has accumulated enough XP, which scales with its current level (`XP needed = level × 10`).
- Hard cap — No mob ever goes past the absolute cap (default 9999), even after endless level-ups.

Configuration

Everything is tuned through a single config file on the server (`config/dinolevelmob-common.toml`):

  • Level ranges, spawn level caps, boss threshold and boss levels
  • HP / damage / armor multipliers
  • EXP per kill and XP curve
  • Tier color list (any number of ranges, any colors)
  • Entity exclusions (`excludedEntities`)
