Dimensional Apiculture
Dimensional Apiculture is an add-on for Forestry: Community Edition.
It adds new bees that are tied to dimensions and altitude. Instead of breeding every bee in the same place, you will need to build apiaries in the right world and at the right height.
This mod is made for players who enjoy Forestry beekeeping and want more reasons to explore places like the Nether, the End, high skies, deep caves, and optional dimension mods.
Features
- Adds 29 new Forestry bee species.
- Adds dimension-based and altitude-based mutation conditions.
- Adds new beekeeping goals for the Overworld, Nether, End, and optional dimensions.
- Shows mutation routes in JEI.
- Adds habitat information to analyzed bee tooltips when holding Shift.
- Supports fallback dimensions when some optional dimension mods are not installed.

Dimension and Altitude
Dimensional Apiculture bees are not only tied to a dimension. Many of them also require a certain altitude.
Altitude is shown in simple groups:
| Altitude |
Meaning |
| Deep |
Very low areas |
| Normal |
Usual middle-height areas |
| Higher |
High areas |
| Highest |
Very high areas |
The exact Y-level range can be checked in-game. Analyze a bee, hover over it, and hold Shift to see its required dimension and altitude.
How to Play
Play Forestry beekeeping as usual, then use JEI to look up the new mutation routes.
When aiming for a Dimensional Apiculture bee, build your apiary in the matching dimension and altitude. For example, End bees are bred in the End, Nether bees are bred in the Nether, and Overworld bees are found in unusual heights of the Overworld.
If a dimensional bee is bred outside its suitable habitat, it may revert toward its base species. To keep a special bee line stable, raise it in the environment it is adapted to.
Optional Dimension Support
Some bee groups are designed for optional dimension mods. These mods are not required.
If the optional dimension is not installed, Dimensional Apiculture uses a fallback dimension so the bees can still be obtained.
