Dense Vegetation

Ever feel like Minecraft's forests, plains, and jungles are a bit too empty? This mod makes grass, flowers, and other small plants generate a lot thicker across your world. Trees and cacti can be turned on too if you want. Everything is configurable.

No new blocks, no visual overhaul. It's still vanilla Minecraft, just growing more of what's already there.

What it does

- Makes grass, flowers, ferns, mushrooms, bushes, and other small plants generate denser (on by default)
- Optional denser trees, if you want thicker forests
- Optional denser cacti, if you want lusher deserts
- Set a different density multiplier for each of the three categories above
- Choose which biomes get affected, or which ones get left alone, wildcards supported
- Fine-tune or exclude specific vegetation features by ID if you want that level of control
- Works with most other worldgen/biome mods automatically, no compatibility patch needed
- Configurable in-game through the mods menu, or by editing the config file directly

How it works

Instead of replacing blocks or hardcoding specific plants, this mod adjusts the system Minecraft already uses to decide how many patches of grass, flowers, or trees show up per chunk, and just tells it to try more often. Because of that, it naturally respects existing biome placement rules and doesn't fight with other worldgen mods, it just makes things spawn more often.

Config

Everything lives in config/densevegetation-common.toml, or you can change it in-game from Mods > Dense Vegetation > Config.

Defaults:
- Grass & plants: on, 3x
- Trees: off, 2x if you turn it on
- Cacti: off, 2x if you turn it on
- Biome whitelist/blacklist: empty by default, applies everywhere
- Feature whitelist/blacklist: empty by default, for advanced per-mod tuning

A quick note on performance

Higher multipliers mean more work when generating new chunks. Somewhere around 2x-5x is usually not noticeable. Cranking it way up (15x+) or turning on dense trees can slow down world generation on slower hardware, so it's worth testing before committing to a big multiplier on a server.

Compatibility

Plays nicely with vanilla and most biome/vegetation mods. Only affects newly generated chunks, so existing explored areas won't retroactively change, only new terrain as you explore further out.
