What's new
Delvefold 1.0.0 — Stable Foundations
This is a major update from Delvefold 0.1.0, expanding the mod into a complete, configurable, and server-ready mining-world system.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Added a guided setup wizard available through /delvefold gui.
• Added Flat, Cavern, and Wild mining worlds.
• Added Classic and Expansive terrain variants.
• Added configurable vanilla and modded ore generation.
• Added named ore profiles with GUI and command management.
• Added safe world deletion, recreation, backup, and restoration.
• Added singleplayer, LAN, and dedicated-server support.
• Added modpack integration features, permissions, lifecycle events, JEI, and EMI support.
ORE CONFIGURATION
• Added visual ore height-distribution and generation-workload previews.
• Added an inventory-style block picker with real item icons.
• Added ore search, namespace filtering, ore-only filtering, and a Show All option.
• Modded ores can be selected visually or entered using their registry ID.
• Added support for exact blocks and conventional ore tags such as c:ores/tin.
• Added configurable replacement blocks and block tags.
• Added editable output block-state properties.
• Added biome inclusion and exclusion settings.
• Added vein size, attempts per chunk, height ranges, distribution shapes, terrain filters, and air-exposure discard settings.
• Added Vanilla-Balanced, Rich, and Empty starting profiles.
• Added named profiles that can be created, duplicated, selected, imported, exported, and deleted.
• Added read-only ore profiles supplied by datapacks or startup-script integrations.
• Ore changes safely apply only to newly generated chunks. Existing chunks are never silently regenerated.
WORLD IDENTITY AND GENERATION
• Added Classic and Expansive variants for all three terrain types.
• Added editable mining-world names.
• Added optional survey stations, ore motherlodes, and fault-line landmarks.
• Added Pure Mining, Balanced, and Abundant landmark-density presets.
• Added Safe, Hostile, and Normal mob-spawning presets.
• Added individual natural spawn-category controls.
• Added optional scheduled mining-world renewal.
• Scheduled renewals include warnings, player evacuation, and mandatory recoverable backups.
• Terrain shape and scale can be changed during a confirmed world recreation.
• Adjusted Expansive Flat generation so its surface is below the cloud layer.
PORTALS
• Added an iron-tier Delvefold Portal Frame.
• Added a dedicated Delvefold creative tab.
• Portals are activated using vanilla Flint and Steel.
• Portal activation includes reverse-portal particles, crystalline sounds, and distinct visual effects.
• Added configurable portal access, cooldown, coordinate scaling, and Overworld-entry policies.
• Failed portal activation does not damage Flint and Steel.
• Portal activation never automatically initializes or changes mining-world settings.
• Fixed the “Strike the Seam” advancement so it is awarded only after a valid portal is successfully activated—not when placing a frame block.
WORLD MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY
• Added safe mining-world deletion and recreation through the GUI and commands.
• World operations require confirmation before they are scheduled.
• Timestamped backups are retained by default.
• Added a backup browser with pinning and confirmed deletion.
• Added restart-safe backup restoration.
• Added pre-restore safety snapshots.
• Players are evacuated before destructive world operations.
• Portal entry is blocked while a delete, recreation, renewal, or restoration is pending.
• Operations resume safely after a server restart or after reopening a singleplayer save.
MODPACK AND SERVER INTEGRATION
• Added native NeoForge permission nodes for configuration, portal access, and world management.
• Added a versioned public integration API.
• Added immutable mining-world status views.
• Added world lifecycle, ore-profile activation, and cancellable portal-travel events.
• Added namespaced ore profiles loaded from datapacks.
• Added a dependency-free startup-script profile bridge.
• Added optional JEI and EMI portal information pages.
• JEI, EMI, scripting mods, and permission-management mods remain optional.
• The same Delvefold JAR supports singleplayer, LAN, and dedicated servers.
• Delvefold must be installed on both the client and server.
USER INTERFACE
• Reworked initial setup into Terrain, Resources, and Review stages.
• Improved the dashboard, setup wizard, ore picker, ore editor, and backup browser.
• Added descriptions for ore, gameplay, and landmark presets.
• Added clearer validation, status messages, confirmation controls, and administration capabilities.
• Added translatable labels throughout the major Delvefold interfaces.
• Changed every command to use the /delvefold command root.
ADVANCEMENTS
• Added “Open the Fold” for obtaining a Delvefold Portal Frame.
• Added “Strike the Seam” for successfully activating a portal.
• Added “Beyond the Overworld” for entering a Delvefold mining world.
STABILITY AND COMPATIBILITY
• Stabilized configuration schema 2 for the Delvefold 1.x series.
• Stabilized public API version 1.
• Delvefold 0.2.0–0.4.0 schema-2 saves can upgrade directly.
• Schema-1 saves are handled in a non-destructive, read-only compatibility mode.
• Added atomic per-save JSON storage and strict validation.
• Added stale-edit protection and last-known-good runtime snapshots.
• Added validation for shipped JSON, translations, schemas, and example datapacks.
• Added clean-build CI, reproducible release artifacts, source JARs, and SHA-256 checksums.
• Completed client and dedicated-server smoke testing.
IMPORTANT UPGRADE NOTES
• Back up your save before upgrading.
• Install Delvefold on both the client and server.
• Ore, landmark, and terrain-generation changes affect newly generated chunks.
• Recreate an existing Expansive Flat mining world to apply the corrected surface height consistently.
• Existing chunks are never silently regenerated.
