DeltaCalc

calc preview DeltaCalc is a client-side utility mod for Cobblemon Delta on Fabric 1.21.1.

It adds an in-battle damage calculator, expanded battle overlays, richer tooltips, team indicators, and optional battle-state export for external analysis tools. The goal is to make battle information easier to read and act on without changing Cobblemon’s core mechanics, with the incorporation of the Custom Cobblemon the Delta mod add.

How DeltaCalc Works

DeltaCalc reads the battle information that is already available to your client during a Cobblemon Delta battle, then turns that into a live battle snapshot for damage estimation. It tracks things like the active Pokemon, revealed moves, stat stages, weather, terrain, side conditions, HP state, and other battle context that affects damage.

For the actual calculations, DeltaCalc uses Cobblemon species data, move data, typing, and battle-state information to build a best-effort damage model in real time. When some information is unknown, such as an opponent’s exact EV spread, item, or unrevealed move set, DeltaCalc makes reasonable inferences from a database consisting of the highest usage sets made from the ranked usage anyltics website and delta's "custom pokemon" thread in there server, for vanilla cobblemon we take the most used set from OU singles from Smogon while taking into consideration of what has been revealed so far and updates its estimates as the battle continues.

Data Sources

DeltaCalc is based on:

Battle state visible to the client during combat
Revealed information from the current battle
Cobblemon's Pokemon, move, type, and stat data
Active field effects such as weather, terrain, screens, boosts, and other conditions
Smogon
Ranked Usage Anyltics for ranked Cobblemon Delta
Delta Discord Server of all custom pokemon

It does not magically know hidden server-side information. If something has not been revealed yet, the calculator treats it as an estimate rather than a confirmed value.

Similar To Showdex

If you have used Showdex on Pokemon Showdown, the idea is similar: provide live damage calculations and battle context directly in the battle UI so you do not have to constantly tab out to a separate calculator. DeltaCalc aims to bring that same kind of workflow to Cobblemon Delta, adapted to Cobblemon battles and the information available in-game.
