# Deep Field
**Build a rocket. Leave the planet. Go further than anyone has gone.**
Craft a Meridian Launch Kit, set it down on open ground and watch a full rocket and launch tower assemble. Climb aboard with up to two friends, start the countdown and ride it off the pad through fire, smoke and flying dust.
## The Voyage
Above the clouds the game hands over to a fully rendered space film:
- orbit over the real Earth, an Earthrise over the Moon, Mars and the asteroid belt
- a pass over Jupiter's cloud tops and through Saturn's ring plane
- out past the heliopause to a spinning pulsar, a nebula, a globular cluster and the whole Milky Way
- across the intergalactic void, past quasars, to **TON 618**, an ultramassive black hole drawn with real general relativity
- ...and what happens after you cross its horizon
Watch Earth's clock run billions of years ahead as you near light speed. Or choose **3C 273**, a blazing quasar, as your destination instead. Every voyage brings something home.
## Eight Worlds
The DF-2 **Pathfinder** takes you to the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Io, Miranda and the floating islands above the clouds of Saturn and Neptune. Pick a world, fuel up, launch, touch down in your lander, explore, then lift off and come home under parachutes.
Every world has its own gravity, weather and sky: Earth hanging over the Moon, Jupiter and its auroras filling Io's sky, acid rain and lightning on Venus, auroras over the gas-giant islands. Search crashed probes and old survey stations, and meet the creatures that live out there.
## Survive Out There
Space suits for heat, cold and radiation, oxygen tanks, and oxygen generators with airlocks for sealed bases. Life support, temperature and radiation can each be switched on or off in the config.
## Star Magic
Gather stardust from falling stars, fill a Celestial Altar with starlight and perform rituals with Star Pedestals. Infuse your gear with the powers of the worlds you've visited, cast star spells with the Astrolabe, and forge Starsteel tools and armour.
## Bosses and Endgame
Wake the Ring Wyrm in its lair among Saturn's islands. Awaken the Pocket Universe to enter the **Young World** and face the Firstborn at the Cradle of Stars. Earn the Horizon Blade, the Genesis Mantle and the Quasar Core.
## Gadgets
A two-seat rover, a jetpack, a grappling hook and a survey scanner that reveals nearby ores.
## Flight Log
An in-game guidebook with quests, a bestiary and everything above.
## Compatibility
- NeoForge 1.21.1 and Forge 1.20.1
- Works with Sodium/Embeddium, Iris/Oculus shader packs and the usual performance mods. The launch fire and smoke are drawn on top of shader packs, so they look the same and stay smooth.
- Multiplayer: crews of up to three, server-side config
- Film quality presets for any graphics card (Mods > Deep Field > Config). Hold ENTER to skip the film.
