Deep Rock Tavern adds the beers from the game Deep Rock Galactic, developed by Ghost Ship games, many with a minecrafty twist on their function.

(This mod is still in development, and may receive major changes to features in the future)

 

Find beer making supplies in the Lush Caves, and use the brewing barrels to ferment them into delicious, useful or just fun beverages!

The mod includes several new potion effects that are obtainable through the beers!
Some are already implemented, but others are still in development.


Getting Smashed

There are two potion effects related to getting drunk in this mod: Tipsy and Blackout.

Each drink you consume will increase how Tipsy you are, with the Tipsiness effect lasting for 24 seconds for each level of tipsiness.

 

After tipsiness 40, your character will start to sway, moving back and forth, left and right, initially slowly but eventually reaching around a block's distance of variation. 

After reaching 100 tipsiness, you will receive the Blackout effect. Blackout forces the player to crawl, and locks up their movement. It also applies the blindness, night vision and nausea effects. Incurred naturally, Blackout lasts for 30 seconds before becoming sober.

Tipsiness values for DRG beers match the potency values of the original beers.


Implemented Beers

 

Original Drinks
  • Mug'o Wo'ah - Just water. Nice and refreshing
  • Thunder Clap - Causes you to fart so many flames that it puts out the rain. You also are propelled upwards (41 tipsiness)

 

Abyss Bar Drinks (Deep Rock Galactic)
  • Rocky Mountain - Gives you Haste for 30 minutes
  • Skull Crusher Ale - Gives you Strength for 30 minutes
  • Red Rock Blaster - Gives you 6 hearts of Health Boost for 30 minutes
  • Dark Morkite - Valuables will spawn randomly when breaking any block for 30 minutes
  • Pots o' Gold - Gives 4 seconds of Luck 6 (Useful for opening loot chests)
  • Wormhole Special - Chorus Fruit effect
  • Leaf Lover's Special - Removes all status effects
  • Oily Oaf - Mildly increases tipsiness
  • Glyphid Slammer - Increases tipsiness
  • Gut Wrecker - Greatly increases tipsiness
  • Arkenstout - Applies the Frozen debuff for 30 seconds (Locks the player in place, can't move camera)
  • Blackout Stout - Instantly applies Blackout
  • Flintlocke's Delight - Causes frequent farting. Each fart provides a small amount of lift
  • Mactera Brew - Applies Poison for 30 seconds

 


To be implemented

 

Original Drinks
  • Skooma - Creative Only. Flings you at very high speeds in random directions. Beefy PC and/or superflat world required to not lag out

 

Abyss Bar Drinks (Deep Rock Galactic)
  • Best Wurst Beer - Unsure for the function. Might give saturation?
  • Tunnel Rat - Applies Feather falling 3 equivalent for 30 minutes
  • Blacklock Lager - Causes blindness, plays haunting sounds
  • Blackreach Blonde - Plays a random disc (excluding discs 11, 13 and 5) and causes the player to crouch dance
  • Burning Love - Sets the player on fire
  • Malt Rockbearer - Increases the size of the player
  • Underhill Deluxe - Decreases the size of the player
  • Smart Stout - Temporarily unlocks all recipes and 
  • Seasoned Moonrider - Gives the player low gravity
  • Backbreaker Stout - Allows players to pick up destructible blocks and entities like in the 2022 april fools update
  • Slayer Stout - Unsure what to do with this. Might relate to a future feature that is still under consideration

 


World Gen

The world gen of this mod is currently adding 5 plants to the world, with 3 already implemented. These plants spawn primarily in the lush caves biomes, but can spawn in any underground biome that contains vegetation. They emit a small amount of light so they are easier to see when up on the ceiling.

  • Boolo Cap - Yes I know this is a mission objective but I like boolos too much they're funny to say
  • Barley Bulb - Thin olive green stem with a vibrant red tip. Exclusively used for the long duration beers (And pots o' gold).
  • Malt Star - Thick blue-purple stems with cyan stars on top. Used primarily in "negative" drinks
  • Starch Nut (NYI) - Thick green stem with purple bulb hanging off. Used primarily in strong tipsiness drinks
  • Yeast Cone (NYI) - Teal stem with blue bulb hanging off. Used primarily in drinks with physical changes.
  • Red Sugar (NYI) - Breaking will drop Red Sugar shards. Consuming one will restore 1 heart. Can be used to craft certain drinks and items

Brewing (NYI)

This system is not yet implemented, but will involve a few systems

 

Fermentation

Using brewing barrels, you'll be able to insert water and the correct amounts of each ingredient to begin brewing a drink. The output drink will be stored in the barrel until released with a tap.

Tapping

Straight from the barrel! Putting a tap on a barrel will allow drinks to be poured into mugs. Mugs can be filled either by right clicking the tap with a mug, or by placing a mug under the tap and right clicking the tap (or powering with a redstone signal). Mugs can then be broken or right clicked to be picked up.

A barrel can store 12 drinks, though the amount of ingredients required to brew will increase every 4 drinks stored (based on the amount of water inside).
