Deep Quiet
Every sound is a risk.
One of your friends becomes the monster. Everyone else must work together in an abandoned city, finish six connected preparations, and choose how to survive: call a rescue aircraft or unlock the weapon that can end the hunt.
Deep Quiet is an asymmetric multiplayer horror minigame for Minecraft Java 1.20.1 / Forge by Hoot Al Ghawas. The city, game rules, models, effects, and tutorials are included in the mod.
Hunt your friends — or keep them alive
- Three playable monsters: the blind, fast Listener tracks sound and pulls survivors with its tongue; Verity stalks with a rush, ground slam, and marked teleport; the huge Beast Titan throws boulders and unleashes a terrifying roar.
- Five survivor classes: Medic, Gunner, Trapper, Scout, and Decoy. Heal teammates, prepare a noisy shot, set traps, scan for danger, or lure the hunter away.
- Six shared, multi-step missions: collect and assemble a radio battery, pump and deliver fuel, grow wheat and escort a lost calf, repeat radio melodies, solve relay circuits, and align a rooftop antenna.
- A city built for chases: escape windows, roof routes, ladders, wardrobes, crates, and spaces under beds. Hiding buys time, but staying too long can make noise.
- Distractions and supplies: throw bottles or bricks to create a sound elsewhere, find respawning supply crates, and use escape utilities.
- Downed teammates can be revived. Taking a risk to save someone may change the round.
- Four endings: escape by aircraft, defeat the monster with the unlocked resonator, lose the entire survivor team, or face the monster's final overload when time expires.
- 5–15 minute rounds, built-in survivor and monster tutorials with English narration, and solo practice for learning the controls.
- Custom monster animations, sound effects, chase ambience, warning effects, and jump scares.
Start playing
- Install Minecraft Java 1.20.1, Forge 47.x, and Java 17. Forge 47.4.10 is the tested target.
- Put deepquiet-1.0.jar in the mods folder on every player's client and the server. Everyone must use the same file.
- Open a world or join your server, then press J to open the lobby. Choose a survivor class, monster preference, and round duration.
- Each player selects Play. With two or more players in the lobby, the host can start; one player is chosen as the monster.
- During the round, press J for the field map, mission steps, and objective guidance. First time here? Choose Tutorial, Solo human, or Solo beast from the lobby.
No separate map download is needed. A real match needs other players; solo modes are practice modes.
