1.1.2 — Drones, Hoverbikes & Lasers

Drone Ports

• Drone Port: a landing pad with its own cargo drone. Whatever goes into its send bay, the drone flies a stack at a time to the port it is routed to, and sets it down in that port's receive bay.
  • Works with belts, pipes, hoppers and Robotic Arms at both ends.
  • The drone climbs over the terrain in between, comes down on a soft guide beam, and flies home again.
  • It only takes what the far port has room for; anything left over comes back.
  • Up to 256 blocks per route; 400 FE plus 8 FE per block per trip.
• Flight Planner: tap the receiving port, then every port that should send to it. One receiver can take from many senders.
• Fully animated: spinning rotors, a crate under the drone showing what it carries, navigation lights, and a parked drone on every idle pad.

🏍️ Hoverbike

• A one-seat skimmer that floats over land and water. Steer where you look, sprint to boost (17 blocks a second), and hold jump to lift higher. It rides up over steps and ledges by itself.
• Runs on its own 200,000 FE charge (40 FE per block). Out of charge, it glides gently down.
• It leans into turns, its twin thrusters flare the harder you push, and it leaves a wake of spray and foam over water.
• Hit it to pack it away with its charge.

Mining Laser

• Hold use to cut blocks from up to 32 blocks away. The block cracks as the beam works, and harder blocks take longer.
• A white-hot beam with sparks and a molten glow, held raised and aimed in both hands.
• Three modes: Single, Bore (a 3x3 face; leaves chests and other containers alone) and Smelt (drops come out smelted: iron ore gives ingots, sand gives glass).
• Harvests anything breakable as the best tools would, and respects protected areas.

Also new

• Advancements: Joyride, Air Mail and Cutting Edge.
• A new Field Manual chapter, "Frontier Gear", plus Drone Port pages in "The Assembly Line".
• All the new items are 3D in your inventory.

Fixes

• The Guardian Drone's item model no longer points to a texture that doesn't exist.
