Deconstructed Backpacks

Backpacks for Minecraft 1.12.2: six tiers, from leather to netherite, with upgrades that make them do much more than hold items. Wear one on your back (or in a Baubles slot), carry it in your inventory, or place it in the world as a block.

Requires Deconstructed Core of the same version or newer.

Backpacks

Backpack, Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Netherite: each tier has more slots and more upgrade slots, and can be upgraded in place without losing its contents. Backpacks can be dyed, and some mobs spawn wearing them.

Upgrades

• Pickup, Magnet, Void, Filter: pick up, pull in, destroy or filter items, each with an advanced version that has more filtering options
• Restock, Deposit, Refill: move items between the backpack, containers and your inventory
• Feeding: feeds you from the backpack
• Compacting: compacts items into their block forms
• Crafting, Smelting, Smoking, Blasting, Stonecutter, Anvil, Smithing, Chisel: the workstation in an upgrade tab, the furnaces also in auto versions
• Stack upgrades and downgrades: change how many items fit in a slot
• Tool Swapper: picks the right tool for the block or mob in front of you
• Tank, Pump, Experience Pump, Battery: fluids, experience and energy
• Jukebox: plays music discs from your back
• Inception: backpacks inside backpacks
• Everlasting: the backpack can't burn, despawn or fall into the void
• Infinity (admin) and Survival Infinity

Keybinds to open the backpack, sort it, swap tools and toggle upgrades.

Origin and license

This is a port to Minecraft 1.12.2 of Sophisticated Backpacks by P3pp3rF1y, made from commit cf55d7d6, the last one published under the GNU GPL v3 (2025-02-10). Nothing in this port comes from the later, All Rights Reserved commits.

• Original code © P3pp3rF1y; changed: ported to an older game version, with much rewritten.
• Textures by Ridanisaurus, contributed to the original while it was under the GPL v3.
• Not made, endorsed or supported by P3pp3rF1y. Please don't report problems with this port to the original mod.
