Edit you death messages in-game! Just bind it to any keybind in the settings and you are done! Edit them in the simple menu to anything and you are done!
Also here is an explaination of what those random symbols mean:
%1$s: Player who died
%2$s: The player/mob who killed %1$s
%3$s: Item's name
