Deadly Quicksand – Official Description

This mod expands Minecraft with a wide variety of new quicksand-style blocks, each introducing unique hazards, immersive mechanics, and environmental dangers inspired by both classic and modern quicksand concepts.

The latest version is now fully complete and introduces a greatly enhanced experience thanks to new mechanics, updated generation, more block variants, and immersive visual effects.

🌋 Current Features

🕳️ 1. sixteen Quicksand Variants

Each quicksand type comes with its own sinking behavior, effects, and atmosphere:

• Quicksand

• Quickdirt

• Quickmud

• Blossom Mire (flower pit with hidden thorns + Bleeding)

• Quick Mossy

• Cursed Soil

• Tar Pit

• Toxic Quicksand

• Quick Ashen

• Slime Bog

• Quick Bloody

• And Other

Every variant now features its own custom visual overlay, making each type feel unique as the player sinks into it.

🩸 2. New Status Effect: Bleeding

A custom debuff triggered by the Blossom Mire.
Escaping its thorny flowers applies Bleeding for 1 minute, unless the player uses the Bandage item to stop it.

🧵 3. Rope Escape Tool (New!)

A fully functional Rope has been added, allowing players to escape quicksand pits if used correctly.
This tool adds a new strategic layer to survival, especially in dangerous biomes.

🌱 4. Updated World Generation

Quicksand now generates more naturally and with improved placement rules, making encounters more dynamic and biome-appropriate.

🎨 5. Custom Visual Effects

Every quicksand block now features individual visual overlays when the player enters it.
These immersive effects reinforce the identity of each variant and make sinking feel more realistic and terrifying.
