Description

This mod adds a wide variety of occult items, many of which are crafted through rituals rather than standard crafting. In addition to items such as spell tomes and voodoo dolls, there are also mechanics for turning onesself into a vampire, necromancy, and the summoning of demonic minions. Several new weapons and armors have also been added, many of which are optimized for greater effectiveness against enemies such as the vampires or demons that can be encountered while using this mod. The intention of this mod is to fill the niche for magic/occult mods in a way that is not overly complex or involved. Some rituals and recipes may be expensive, but most can be completed with a reasonable investment of time and resources. There are too many recipes for me to post here in any reasonable time frame, so JEI/REI/NEI or similar mods are HIGHLY recommended. A large number of items are crafted through rituals, rather than traditionally. These rituals will be added to the mod description as they cannot be found otherwise. Mod is currently ONLY available for Minecraft 1.20.1 with forge. I may update to other versions in the future, but I will most likely not be porting to non-forge modloaders.

 

The following items and features are included:

 

Weapons & Occult Items:

-Silver Tools + Swords

--Same efficiency and durability as iron, 50% damage bonus against vampires and other undead.

--Sharpened variants can be crafted with 1 diamond and 1 silver ingot for increased damage and durability.

-Bloodletting Knife

--Used to harvest blood by Sneaking + Right Clicking a living creature or person with an empty bottle in the inventory or a blood chalice in the off hand.

-Sacrificial Blade

--Harvests human hearts when used to kill Players, Villagers, or Illagers.

-Blood Infused Sword + Blackened Blood Infused Sword

--Absorbs a small amount of health and hunger from hit enemies.

-Infernal Iron Sword

--Ignites hit enemies.

-Crucifixes (Wood, Silver, Gold)

--Protect from vampire bites, demonic magic, and voodoo while held in the hand.

--Deals bonus damage to demons, vampires, and other undead.

-Stakes (Wooden, Silver Capped)

--200% damage bonus against vampires and other undead.

-Elemental Compendium

--Casts Fire, Ice, or Lightning spells on right click. Sneak + Right Click to change element cast.

--Must be recharged with blood.

-Ring of the Winds

--Allows creative flight and slowly loses charge when held in the hotbar and activated on right click.

--Must be recharged with blood.

-Ring of Translocation

--Allows teleportation within a 64 block radius on right click.

--Must be recharged with ender blood.

-Ring of Plane Shifting

--Allows shifting between the overworld and nether on right click.

--INTENTIONALLY DANGEROUS. This item directly translates coordinates between the overworld and nether with the usual ratio. Using it blind can and will drop the user into lava or bury them alive. Must be employed carefully.

--Must be recharged with ender blood.

-Ring of Withering

--Fires withering projectiles on right click.

--Must be recharged with blood.

-Amulet of the Smith

--Slowly repairs held items and worn armor while held in the hotbar.

-Necromancer's Amulet

--Summons zombies or skeletons while right clicked with rotten flesh or bones in the off-hand. These zombies and skeletons are neutral to their summoner, but hostile to other players.

--Animates flesh golems when right clicked on the Flesh Golem Core on a properly built block structure.

--Allows control of animated flesh golems. Right click to change movement mode, Sneak + Right Click to change aggression mode.

--Must be recharged with blood.

-Summoner's Amulet

--Summons demons while right clicked on an appropriately prepared ritual circle.

--Draws ritual circles by right clicking on the ground.

--Allows control of summoned demons. Right click to change movement mode, Sneak + Right Click to change aggression mode.

--Must be recharged with blood.

-Talisman of Iron Flesh

--Grants additional damage resistance while held in the hotbar.

-Talisman of the Salamander

--Grants fire resistance while held in the hotbar.

-Spinning Watch

--Grants additional speed and haste while held in the hotbar.

-Blood Chalice

--Stores up to 64 bottles worth of blood harvested while held in the off hand.

--Can be used to drink blood, or to charge occult items.

-Voodoo Doll

--Can be linked to a player by right clicking, and used to remotely deal damage to them by right clicking after initially linked, until the item breaks.

-Protective Crystal

--Protect from vampire bites, demonic magic, and voodoo while held in the hand.

-Holy Water

--Deals heavy damage to demons, vampires, and other undead.

--Cures withering and extinguishes burning entities that are not demons, vampires, or other undead.

-Silver Arrow

--Usable in vanilla bows and crossbows.

--50% damage bonus against vampires and other undead.

 

Armor:

-Paladin's Armor

--Protects the wearer from vampire bites, demonic magic, and voodoo while a full suit is worn.

-Blood Infused Armor + Blackened Blood Infused Armor

--Increases passive regeneration while a full suit is worn by a vampire.

-Infernal Iron Armor

--Protects the wearer from fire while a full suit is worn.

-Cultist's Robes

--Similar protection to leather armor, high enchantability.

 

Consumables:

-Vampire Blood

--Drinkable by vampires, used in some rituals, can be used to recharge some occult items.

-Human Blood

--Drinkable by vampires, used in some rituals, can be used to recharge some occult items.

--Can be infused into iron ingots using a brewing stand.

-Non-Human Blood

--Drinkable by vampires, used in some rituals, can be used to recharge some occult items.

--Provides half the sustenance of human or vampire blood.

Ender Blood

--Drinkable by vampires, used in some rituals, can be used to recharge some occult items.

Vampirism Ritual Bottle

--Can be consumed to turn the drinker into a vampire. Vampires gain bonuses to their health and additional physical abilities such as nightvision, regeneration, strength, and speed, but can only restore hunger by drinking blood and lose many of their abilities while in direct sunlight. In addition to drinking bottled blood, vampires can bite players, animals, villagers, and pillagers by sneaking and right clicking them with an empty hand.

Vampirism Cure Bottle

--Can be used to cure the drinker of vampirism. Causes severe side effects.

Human Heart

--Consumable by vampires, used in some rituals.

Bleeding Heart

--Consumable by vampires, used in some rituals.

Vampiric Heart

--Consumable by vampires, absorbs a small amount of health and hunger from hit enemies while held in the hand.

Preserved Flesh

--Consumable by Vampires.

--Used to craft Mellified Flesh.

Mellified Flesh

--Consumable by Vampires.

--Applies regeneration and clears all active effects when eaten.

 

Misc/Crafting Items:

-Silver Ore

--Can be smelted into silver ingots.

-Silver Ingot

--Used to craft silver weapons and armor, also used in some rituals.

-Silver Nugget

--Used to craft some items.

-Occult Tome

--Can place a ritual circle while right clicking with bottled blood held in the off-hand.

--Can complete rituals by sneaking and right clicking a prepared ritual circle.

-Holy Bible

--Used as a crafting item to bless crucifixes, relics, reliquaries, and holy water.

-Holy Relic

--Placed in a reliquary to activate an area-of-effect damage field against demons, vampires, and other -undead.

-Salt

--Used to craft holy water.

-Elemental Focusing Crystal [Fire]

--Used in some rituals.

-Elemental Focusing Crystal [Ice]

--Used in some rituals.

-Elemental Focusing Crystal [Lightning]

--Used in some rituals.

-Focusing Crystal [Wind]

Firearm Parts:

Assorted firearms parts, all silver plated. Recipes can be found in JEI/REI/NEI.

 

New Mobs:

Vampire:

-Vampires spawn in the overworld at night and are hostile to players, villagers, and illagers. They are armed with a silver bloodletting knife, have 40 HP, are classified as undead, and take additional damage from silver and holy weaponry. They are also able to open doors, and do not burn in the sun, although they do prefer to avoid sunlight.

 

Vampire Crossbowman:

-Nearly identical to the standard vampire, but armed with a crossbow firing silver bolts rather than a bloodletting knife.

 

Demon:

-Demons spawn in the nether and are hostile to players and most mobs. They attack using demonic magic which bypasses armor protection, have 40 HP, and take additional damage from holy weaponry but not silver. They are able to open doors, and can be summoned by the player using a Ritual Circle and Summoner's Amulet. Summoned demons can be controlled using the Summoner's Amulet. Sneak + Right Click changes their aggression settings, while Right Click changes their movement settings.

 

Flesh Golem:

-Flesh Golems can only be spawned through the use of a necromancer's amulet, by right clicking on a flesh golem core that has had 4 blocks of rotten flesh placed around it in a t-shape. Summoned flesh golems have 100 HP, and make melee attacks against enemies. Initially, they are hostile against everything but their creator, but they can be brought under control using the Necromancer's Amulet. Sneak + Right Click changes their aggression settings, while Right Click changes their movement settings.

 

New Blocks:

Silver Ore, Deepslate Silver Ore, Silver Block:

-Silver is used in the crafting of various weapons and armors, as well as in several rituals. It can be mined at the same levels as iron, and has a spawn rate similar to that of gold. Silver ingots can be crafted into a block, as with vanilla ingots.

 

Block of Rotten Flesh, Flesh Golem Core:

-Blocks of rotten flesh can be crafted using 9 rotten flesh, and are an essential component of flesh golems and some rituals. The flesh golem core is created using one of these rituals, infusing occult energies into a block of rotten flesh.

 

Reliquary:

-Reliquary blocks allow the creation of a defensive field against demons, vampires, and other undead. Any that enter within a short distance of a reliquary bearing a holy relic will be damaged and potentially set on fire.

 

Rituals:

Getting Started:

Ritual circles can be placed on the ground by right clicking it with an occult tome, while a bottle of blood is held in the off hand. This will consume the bottle of blood to draw a ritual circle on the floor. Ritual circles can be broken, but do not drop any items as they are simply a circle of smeared blood. To complete a ritual, the required components are placed in the circle through the gui (accessible by right clicking on the circle). Once this is done, the ritual can be completed by sneaking and right clicking the ritual circle while an occult tome is held in the hand. All rituals are detailed below:
