DBCHairPlus 1.6.0 — HexHair & NPCDBC Update
This update brings the full HexHair customization system into DBCHairPlus, including animated player hair, NPCDBC integration, improved form compatibility, and a major overhaul of the DBC NPC hair editor.
New HexHair Customization
- Added advanced animated hair coloring for DBC players.
- Added support for up to four custom hair colors.
- Added split and directional gradients.
- Added front, back, left, right, and side-based coloring.
- Added Multi and Chaos Multi strand coloring.
- Added animated rainbow and rainbow-wave effects.
- Added pulse, breath, strobe, wave, and color-cycle animations.
- Added configurable animation speeds, split percentages, gradient steps, and randomization seeds.
- Added Tweak mode for recoloring existing hair.
- Added Replace mode for using a completely different DBC hair code.
- Hair profiles are saved persistently and synchronized in multiplayer.
NPCDBC Hair Support
- Added full HexHair rendering support for NPCDBC NPCs.
- NPC hair can now use the same colors, gradients, overlays, and animations as players.
- Added support for NPC base hair and NPCDBC custom-form hair.
- NPC HexHair profiles persist through:
- Server restarts
- NPC cloning
- NPC saves
- Player relogs
- Late client joins
- Player and NPC render contexts are isolated to prevent hair colors or animation settings from leaking between entities.
- Added safe handling for SSJ, SSJ2, SSJ3, SSJ4, Raditz, Oozaru, bald, and custom numeric hair types.
NPCDBC Editor Integration
- Added a custom HEX HAIR button to the NPCDBC model editor.
- Added a custom COPY ME button.
- Both buttons now use dedicated textures with:
- Idle states
- Hover states
- Pressed states
- Disabled states
- Animated glow effects
- The HexHair editor displays the actual NPC as the live animated preview.
- Preview changes update without closing or reopening the NPC editor.
- Hair changes no longer require toggling the DBC Skin option to become visible.
True Copy Me Support
The COPY ME button now copies the player’s complete live hair setup onto the NPC.
Copied data includes:
- Exact DBC/JBRA hair geometry
- Active NPCDBC custom-form hair
- Hair type
- Replacement hair code
- Primary and secondary colors
- Four-color palettes
- Gradient and split settings
- Overlay direction
- Animation type
- Animation speed
- Multi and Chaos Multi seeds
The system reads the same live hair source used by JBRA instead of relying only on cached or persisted player data.
Live Preview Refresh
- Copy Me now updates the NPC preview immediately.
- The NPCDBC cached preview entity receives the new hair profile and geometry.
- Hair renderer nodes are invalidated and rebuilt in place.
- The editor remains open during the refresh.
- The DBC Skin setting is not modified or toggled.
Rendering and OpenGL Fixes
- Fixed NPC hair animations appearing frozen or updating in large jumps.
- Replaced the low-precision Unix timestamp animation clock with a smooth relative clock.
- All hair strands now use the same animation timestamp during each rendered frame.
- Added protection against OpenGL model-view stack overflow errors caused by complex copied hairstyles.
- Fixed nested NPCDBC hair layers exhausting Minecraft 1.7.10’s limited OpenGL matrix stack.
- Added safe matrix restoration for NPC hair rendering.
- Prevented copied hair from leaving broken render states after exiting the editor.
- Preserved the full NPC preview while applying the OpenGL safeguards.
Form and Renderer Compatibility
- Added safeguards for DBC and NPCDBC transformations that override hair codes or colors.
- Replacement mode temporarily overrides active form hair during rendering and safely restores it afterward.
- Shared NPCDBC form definitions are not permanently modified.
- Existing NPC transparency and display alpha are preserved.
- Improved compatibility with JRMCore, Dragon Block C, JBRA, CustomNPC+, and NPCDBC.
Networking
- Added client/server synchronization for NPC HexHair profiles.
- Added server-side NPC profile persistence.
- Added synchronization for copied NPC hair codes and hair types.
- Players entering render range later receive the NPC’s complete HexHair setup.
- Improved validation of copied and received hair data.
Important Installation Note
This version must be installed on both the client and server.
Supported Environment
