"Day Threats" is a minecraft mod that adds "day" verisons of regular night creatures, such as skeletons, zombies, etc.
these creatures rarely spawn, but when they do, they will have smoke around them, and touching them will give you the "scalding" effect, which is like invisable fire. These day creatures are slow and frail though, and drop more loot then regular night creatures simply because of this scald effect.
You can add this to your modpack.
