Dawn Star Mod

1. Mod Introduction

This mod revolves around a mythical star called the Dawn Star. Collect materials, forge your star, and in Survival mode you gain creative-mode-like flight, progressively upgrade your gear into indestructible eternal artifacts, and ultimately advance to the Primordial Dawn Star — the ultimate endgame equipment combining flight, immunity, resistance, and item duplication. (There are surprises along the way.)

The mod also includes a standalone Dawn Accessory Slot (no dependencies required), allowing you to wear an additional star, Totem of Undying, and Elytra — fully freeing your hands and armor slots.

Eternal Dawn Star ↔ Shards (Reversible)

• Dismantle 1 Eternal Dawn Star → 4 Eternal Dawn Star Shards.
• Place 4 shards in a 2×2 square → craft back into 1 Eternal Dawn Star.

3.2 Smithing Table Recipes

The Smithing Table has three slots: Template, Base, and Addition. Recipes are described in the order: Template + Base + Addition.

① Indestructible Item (Template: Stellar Smithing Upgrade)

Result:

• Base is Ascended Dawn Star → yields Eternal Dawn Star.
• Base is any other durable item → yields the same item in indestructible form (existing enchantments, stats, and custom name all preserved).

② Vanilla Smithing Template ×5 Copy (Template: Smithing Upgrade Base)

Result: 5 copies of the same vanilla Smithing Template.

③ Duplicate Any Item (Template: Dawn Smithing Upgrade)

Result: Two identical copies of the item (including enchantments and stats).

Notes:

• Cannot duplicate items from this mod.
• Containers that hold items (e.g., Shulker Boxes, Storage Bags) also cannot be duplicated (try forcing it and you'll get a mysterious hint, meow~).
• (Actually works wonders with other mods, but I'm too lazy to fix it, meow~)
• When duplicating stackable items, avoid holding Shift+click to quick-move, or items may be consumed, meow~)

④ Primordial Dawn Star (Template: Dawn Smithing Upgrade)

Result: Primordial Dawn Star.

3.3 Brewing Stand: Infinite-Duration Potions

Add an Eternal Dawn Star Shard to any normal (drinkable) potion to brew an infinite-duration version. Splash or Lingering potions cannot be used as the base.

16 effects can be infinite: Night Vision, Regeneration, Strength, Fire Resistance, Water Breathing, Jump Boost, Swiftness, Invisibility, Slow Falling, Wind Charge, Spider Sense, Scute Regeneration, Wither, Poison, Weakness, Slowness. (Cannot be applied to Turtle Master potions, meow~)

You can still convert them afterward: use Gunpowder to make Splash, Dragon's Breath to make Lingering, or coat them on Arrows — all retain infinite duration.

3.4 Anvil Repair (Ascended Dawn Star Only)

• Ascended Dawn Star + Nether Star: Fully restores durability in one use.
• Ascended Dawn Star + Dragon's Breath: Restores 200 durability (note: the bottle will be consumed, too lazy to fix, meow~).

3.5 Modified / New Drops (Mob Kills / Chests)

Note:

• The Wither's Nether Star drop is affected by Looting — in addition to the guaranteed 1 star, there is a chance to drop an extra 1–2 stars (up to 3 total), with higher Looting levels increasing the probability. Combined with the infinite potion recipe above, farming Nether Stars is no longer a headache.

4. Features & Controls

4.1 Flight: The Star's Core Power

As long as any Ascended / Eternal / Primordial Dawn Star is in your inventory, hotbar, or accessory slot, Survival players gain Creative-mode flight (double-tap Space to take off, hold Space to ascend, Shift to descend). You do not need to equip it in your hand — just carry it.

(Magic resistance does not stack, meow~)

4.2 Key Bindings (All Enabled by Default)

All keys are located under the "Dawn Star" category in the Controls settings.

Pro Tip: While flying, if you have both V on and a star equipped, durability only drains at 1/sec. Applying Mending (and even Experience Mending) to the Ascended Dawn Star will further reduce or even cancel the drain. Eternal and Primordial versions consume no durability at all. (I should've said this earlier!)

4.3 Dawn Accessory Slot (3 Slots)

Press I (or click the small "Accessories" button next to the Recipe Book in the inventory) to open. There are 3 slots, each accepting only one specific item type:

• Star Slot: Only accepts Dawn Stars (Ascended / Eternal / Primordial).
• Totem Slot: Only accepts Totems of Undying. When you would take fatal damage, it automatically consumes one and triggers a death-prevention effect — identical to holding a Totem in your hand. After use, it automatically pulls a new one from your inventory to replace it, effectively acting as a permanent, auto-replacing totem.
• Elytra Slot: Only accepts Elytra. While airborne, press Space to glide. This does not conflict with the Chestplate slot — you can still wear chestplate! The Elytra consumes durability normally while gliding; when it reaches 1 durability, it automatically swaps to a fresh pair from your inventory.

Items in the accessory slot are saved to your player data: they remain in their slots after death and respawn, ensuring their death-preservation property is always active.
